Not on grenade classes.. or cheese classes.. or in this case both. I think my guy has the Venom equipped though.. since it lets me shoot/lash all the shielded mooks to death. Talon is just what I feel is the min/max weapon of choice.

You more than make up for the damage you lose from grenades with weapon damage.
ETA: In my experience™. I also may be biased because I prefer to have a weapon with a bit more kick in case we get a grenade light map with other grenade users in the lobby. And I haven't noticed THAT much stronger cheese, especially after the incendiary DOT has been applied a few times.
