1 warrior 1 rouge 2 mage.
I believe there are too many mage spells to take with one mage and almost all of them are useful so usually one becomes a full healer/support the other one damage dealer with the crowd controls. Besides in both games mages are unmatched for their aoe damage while rouges are good with individual dps. Warriors are stick in the mud, normal with both aoe and single target dps but good at none, however they can tank which is their real value.

Usually this, but I end up using companions who I like to have around and its fun using different party setups.Secretlyapotato wrote...

one healer, the others warriors. never found rogues to be very useful at all.

Also this. I fell in love with healers in both games (wynne and anders). I have joke health, darkspawn is about to hit me to kill me and bam I bathed in holy light, healed. How can you not love it?

Yeah, ideally it would be my choice but I like having tons of different companion combinations and banter. I always always bring a mage though.

Yeah, I do the same - I'll mix 'n match to generate different banter and those times where it's best to have X character along (dialogue choices in specific quests, plot repercussions...).BouncyFrag wrote...

Do you guys mainly play as DPS a warrior? Because its the only good reason to have 2 warriors in party. Since you can't tank:
You plus 1 tank 1 rogue and 1 mage.
am I right?

whichever class the females are. I like having the all-girl group
In DAO I had Leliana, Morrigan and Wynne
In DA2 I had Isabela, Aveline and Bethany if I was playing a rogue.

2 Warriors, a rogue and a mage. Simply by tactics...
I have 2 warriors taking the brunt of the enemy by force while the rogue flanks them, and the mage in the back providing healing assistance and the odd spell or two. Simple stuff really, but it works quite well

1 warrior, 2 rogues, 1 mage.
I always play as a Rogue as my default class.

2 warriors and 2 mages (DAO only), 2 mages 1 warrior 1 rogue, or 2 warriors 1 mage 1 rogue.

The more mages the better. No need for any other class. Mages can nuke, dps, crowd control and heal each-other. Don't care about any silly chests I can't open.

I have yet to see those chests contain anything useful. Usually they contain crafting materials lol.
I really do hope locked chests contain better stuff in Da:I because I feel bad for the rogues.

My ideal party? 4 mages.
What I usually use? 1 mage(with heal spell), 2 rogues(one archer, other dual short swords) and a warrior(sword and shield.)

One warrior, one mage, two rogues. One for ranged, one for melee.

I always try to have at least one warrior, and the rest mages. In DA2 I had Aveline, Hawke (mage), Merrill and Anders. This time I might exchange a mage for a rogue.

In a perfect world, there'd probably be no need for a healer. But Thedas isn't a perfect world, so...
1 (melee) DPS warrior
1 melee DPS rogue
1 ranged DPS rogue
1 healer/DPS mage
1 (melee) DPS warrior
1 melee DPS rogue
1 ranged DPS rogue
1 healer/DPS mage
