Also to anyone else, did DA:O allow preload on steam? That would essentially answer my question as well.

I hope so. Usually games preload the weekend before release, so I imagine we will know soon!

I can't see them not allowing it. Their servers will get absolutely destroyed if everyone starts downloading this 12gb(more?) game at the same time.

Yes Steam allowed a pre-load of DA:O. I think it was about 3 days before release, but I can't remember exactly.

The fine people at valve don't do a whole lot on the weekends so, now that I know DA:O had a preload, I'm going to put my money on early-ish friday.

Sadly, sometimes us Euros (or people outside the general NA release area) get forgotten in pre-release loading.

funny, the xbox version is already gold, leaked and torrented. I hoped that the pc version would be in the same stage by now (at least the gold part, AFAIC); can't wait to feel the sexy bits coming through the steam interwebs
