I like the way micro transactions were done in Dead Space 3, giving you resources and short cut stuff that you can already get in the game. Doing it this way in DAI means players dont miss anything by not buying them and EA/Bioware still make money off lazy people

I don't even know where to start so i just call you stupid. Ok seriously lazy people since then game became work, I thought games meant to be enjoyed not grind to make your character stronger.
Just watch this video.

If a fool wants to part with their money and EA want it that's fine as long as doesn't ruin the game experiences.  It atleast does not ruin the sp expericance if you don't buy it. So let it slide.

But it most certainly can ruin the experience for those that don't buy it. Including microtransations in a singleplayer game encourages the developers to affect the game's balance and loot/money progression, as to entice people into purchasing packs.

I'm pretty sure these "agents" will be how DA:I deals with microtransactions. Buy 10 agents for only $10 and get 1 free!

Reading this thread really just emphasizes that there is no hope for this game.

That's unfortunate, but good to know. Good luck with getting royally screwed over.

........................What?  Some people don't mind microtransactions and suddenly there's no hope for this game?  No where has it been stated that there will be microtransactions.  If people choose to spend their money on them, that's their business and their money.  IF they have microtransactions (and I'm not under any illusions, I'm sure there will be some), I'm sure they'll handle it as they did in previous games like ME2, ME3, and DA2.  You will have a scrolling message at the bottom of the main screen saying that content is available.  That's it.  I'm sure it won't pester the bejeesus out of you or have a button on the side of your screen while you play the game that will bring up the store.  ME2, ME3 had gun packs and appearance packs, and they have 0 bearing on the game...although in ME2's case the mattock rifle was kind of the best gun ever.  However, it wasn't necessary to beat the game or even made it easier.  If this game has multiplayer I'm going to assume that's where the majority would be, so whoopdy doo.  But how in the **** would this game be ruined if they added perhaps an additional armor custimization in first player?  "Oh noes, I can't lead my Inquisition because I refused to pay $0.99 for the pink dye!"  Now, if they made the game super grindy to encourage sales of an XP boost?  THAT would be highway robbery and just...disgusting.  Same thing with making romance options paid for...totally whoring out those characters.  But appearance packs?  Come on.  I'll agree on weapon packs too, that if you pay to win it's a little corny, but some people want to.  Some weapon packs just add variety.  As long as they handle it carefully and don't force you to need to pay it, then why is it a bad thing?  Don't spend your money, simple as that.

Even if it's a business practice you loathe, it's not going to go away.  Probably ever.  Sorry, deal with it.  Some one is always going to be willing to pay for that type of thing, and there's nothing wrong with charging for additional content that was developed after the game was made.  Extra work on their part should require extra money on ours.

I don't know, I can find better things to whine about than microtransactions.  ISPs/cable companies for one..insurance companies...talk about nickle and diming you.

I'm done.  TLDR:  Stupid statement basing the quality of a game on some consumer's opinions.  Handle microtransactions well and it shouldn't be a big deal.  **** ISPs.

Let me guess, you also think NSA spying on everyone is ok as long as it is in the name of anti-terrorism, right?

Considering how easy Bio games typically are, this could be a good thing.

I could really care less if they spied on me in the name of anti-terrorism or not, yes.  I'm not saying I want them walking around my house or snooping in my trash or car, that's a bit much.  The Kinect linking to the NSA and all that jazz, that's way too much.  Looking at my website history?  Sure they can knock themselves out.  It'll mostly just be amazon, porn, and this.

I will never, ever pay for in-game items.  Half the fun for me is acquiring those items.  Why would I throw out half the worth of my game?  When it comes to MP, I find it despicable to even have the option to buy in-game items, because it messes with fair competition between players.  But now it seems like the norm; disgusts me.  SP is another story, and I'm totally okay with people using in-game purchases in single-player games of course.

I will, however, pay for additional gameplay content.  Though considering how ridiculously priced DLC is, I restrict my purchases to games I really like.  Actually, the only games I've bought DLC for were ME2, ME3 and Skyrim (all which conform to the "lets price our DLC outrageously" clause).

I am willing to pay for DLC.

It is very unlikely I will pay money for elite gear to carry me through the game with.

Wow...I mean...wow. Are you for real ? To me such an attitude is worse than the damage caused by actual terroism. You are basically -out of your own volition- bending over with a grin. "Sure, go in dry Uncle Sam -just don't be too smug about it".

Yuck.

There are people on the BSN right now who are soft on terror.

How pathetic.

Is that a convoluted way of saying you support the NSA, or something else entirely?

What's pathetic is there are people who are totally okay with their own government spying on them and their fellow citizens as long as they can feel safe.As Benjamin Franklin once said"Those who trade freedom and liberty for security deserve neither."

I feel that Bioware should really not put in a multiplayer aspect into this game as I truly didn't like it being added on and you had to play hours of multiplayer just to get the good ending in ME3. I see why they put in their for the awful task of Microtransactions WHICH I think shouldn't be in a console game EVER and to extend its play cycle. Though I still play through the ME3 campaign no matter what like with the previous 2 games.

I'm definitely getting off tangent, coming back to a multiplayer aspect is just doesn't feel right with the fantasy settings and what has been established before and yet I'm super excited for DAI, though a microtransaction mechanic within a AAA like EA did with Dead Space 3 and it wasjust wrong.

I'm just looking forward to adventuring in Thedas like I did in Origins and although DA2 was a bit restrictive, I enjoyed walking through Kirkwall and visiting the companion houses and if Bioware does implement microtransaction or having a multiplayer aspect. It just will kill any joy that I have in playing Bioware games solely for their awesome stories, locations, companions and its single player RP.

I am on the other hand, completely fine with DLC as I truly enjoyed story based DLC like Citadel and Leviathan in ME3.

No microtransactions. Period.

That being said, having vanilla romances in the game, but DLC content that allows extra companions as full romance options does sound interesting. Or even a DLC with a customizable romance companion. Give 2-3 origins to choose from, design appearance, and away you go.

As long as the microtransactions are not needed but put in for fun I can life with them. If they would make them for MP which I won't play, they would be better.NSA stuff is political and not needed on the forum. Having said that the NSA can kiss my mabari.

We've had romance oriented DLC before, Witch Hunt, it was mighty cool. The Liara DLC in ME2 was basically the same deal. Great stuff, I'd definitely like more of that type of DLC. As far as microtransactions go, I'd 'possibly' be willing to pay for REALLY cool stuff in categories like, things to make your keep look cooler, awesome outfits for yourself and/or your teammates, things like that. Of course I'm always up for anything that lets you get a cool new teammate (like Kasumi from ME2) , and other than that, I just want lots and lots of cool DLCs and expansions that add to the story in some way. The more the better!

IF this game has micro-transactions, you get $0 from me EA!. Save me $ that I don't have to buy one game less when I clearly knows Witcher 3 don't have such nonsense

I really REALLY do not like microtransactions.

*NOTE:
I do not consider things like Witch Hunt, Shadow Broker, or Legacy as microtransactions...  that's DLC.

micro transactions would most likely be tied to multiplayer, not single player.just my opinion.
They would charge extra for both.
