Reading this thread really just emphasizes that there is no hope for this game.
That's unfortunate, but good to know. Good luck with getting royally screwed over.
........................What? Some people don't mind microtransactions and suddenly there's no hope for this game? No where has it been stated that there will be microtransactions. If people choose to spend their money on them, that's their business and their money. IF they have microtransactions (and I'm not under any illusions, I'm sure there will be some), I'm sure they'll handle it as they did in previous games like ME2, ME3, and DA2. You will have a scrolling message at the bottom of the main screen saying that content is available. That's it. I'm sure it won't pester the bejeesus out of you or have a button on the side of your screen while you play the game that will bring up the store. ME2, ME3 had gun packs and appearance packs, and they have 0 bearing on the game...although in ME2's case the mattock rifle was kind of the best gun ever. However, it wasn't necessary to beat the game or even made it easier. If this game has multiplayer I'm going to assume that's where the majority would be, so whoopdy doo. But how in the **** would this game be ruined if they added perhaps an additional armor custimization in first player? "Oh noes, I can't lead my Inquisition because I refused to pay $0.99 for the pink dye!" Now, if they made the game super grindy to encourage sales of an XP boost? THAT would be highway robbery and just...disgusting. Same thing with making romance options paid for...totally whoring out those characters. But appearance packs? Come on. I'll agree on weapon packs too, that if you pay to win it's a little corny, but some people want to. Some weapon packs just add variety. As long as they handle it carefully and don't force you to need to pay it, then why is it a bad thing? Don't spend your money, simple as that.
Even if it's a business practice you loathe, it's not going to go away. Probably ever. Sorry, deal with it. Some one is always going to be willing to pay for that type of thing, and there's nothing wrong with charging for additional content that was developed after the game was made. Extra work on their part should require extra money on ours.
I don't know, I can find better things to whine about than microtransactions. ISPs/cable companies for one..insurance companies...talk about nickle and diming you.
I'm done. TLDR: Stupid statement basing the quality of a game on some consumer's opinions. Handle microtransactions well and it shouldn't be a big deal. **** ISPs.
