Trevor... He is either hit or miss for me, I think he did an amazing job on Pillars of the Earth but other soundtracks have failed to impress me: Vikings, The Tudors, Immortals.

Mind you, I don't think they were bad just... meh. Let's just hope Trevor respects Inon's work, I'd hate to see the main theme disappear. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt...

He's not bad, but I would vastly prefer if they had stuck with Inon Zur.
He only spoke the truth, and EA is so butt hurt about it they wont allow Bioware to hire him again. Of course this is not fact, but I believe it is very probable.

Well, I think the issue might be that he wrote background music for the game's gameplay. Not themes.
I think that might also have been what was asked from him. Bioware should maybe take note and see to it that Morris do a few melodic and melancholic themes too.

It's not just themes. His combat stuff wasn't very good either. Unlike, say, memorable themes ME2 or Jade Empire (which I know were both Jack Wall).

Awesome news.

I liked his work on the Tudors, especially the tracks played during Wolsey's suicide.

Yeah, twas' a sad scene that seeing Wolseys end. Feel sorry for him and especially sorry for Cromwell.. Hate the Howards, Boleyn's and Charles Brandon for that, bloody bastards lol.

Hmm feel like watching The Tudors again.

if it has music like this, I'll GLADLY welcome Trevor Morris aboard!

NO! While Trevor Morris is awesome! I'd want the music to be similar to the Tudors or the Borgias, basically, something with a lot of orchestra involved in it. This type of music, the video you linked doesn't quite fit the Dragon Age series to be honest. Maybe if the piano sections were removed, then I think it'll fit perfectly.

I think their best pieces are from The Tudors.
Some of my favourite songs they've composed are:
The Tudors - Dancing In The Rain
The Tudors - A Historic Love
The Tudors - Pleasured Distractions

If Dragon Age: Inquisition's music is like The Tudors I will be more than overjoyed. :)

The interview with Jay Vincent, if it's accurate, did mention that Morris had been using a fair few drums in his early work on Inquisition.

(which, I suppose, could fit the whole "ominous marching to war" theme)

Inon Zur wasn't very good in DA. His music in Icewind Dale was great (and IMO the only good thing about that series), but he's been on the significant downswing since.

My feelings on the subject, as well.  I'm glad he's gone.  I was never impressed with the DA music, though I did think it was better in 2.  If that's him under pressure, maybe he should stay that way.

I have no idea who this new composer is, but hopefully he does a better job than Zur.  It wouldn't be hard.

Yeah, imo he had like 2-3 good tracks but his soundtracks were pretty meh tbh.. Idk why some people like him so much, his work is overrated.
