Greetings, all.

I'm the volunteer in charge of getting user site ads up and running on the front page of the old Vault.

I've been getting an error on the site recently, where I cannot see the images submitted with ads. So...

If you submit a site ad, please email a copy of the image file directly to me, so that I can do the final edit and get it uploaded to the right place. It'll also server as a reminder to me to log in and get your ad started.  You can use one of the addresses found following the links in my signature here.

IGN no longer provides ongoing support to the old Vault, so I'm not sure if the image submission break will continue or get fixed someday. At least it still lets me get ads going or get them restarted after a run.

Would you be interested in migrating that to the new vault? I'm not sure what Rolo has planned or in mind with the rotating NWN game ads, but it would be a great addition to the emerging community on the new vault.

It's not just the ads but pictures for recent projects. They used to display and now they do not.

Sadly, it looks like the system doesn't let me actually run new ads. I just tried to start one for the Mercenary Wars module, and it's not showing up in circulation. I was able to restart a few older ones, but it looks like new ones aren't going to work.

First of all, as one of those who has occasionally been running a site ad, I must extend my thanks for keeping the system working to the extent that it does.

Secondly, a request for clarification. When you say the following:

Do you mean that it is not just the regular Vault submission process that is broken, but that even emailed to you as you request in your first post it still cannot be made to work? If so, does that mean it is pointless to submit any new ads, by whatever methods? If one simply wants an ad restarted does it really matter what method is used (or, really, in that case, is it strictly necessary to submit anything at all)?

It seems that I can restart ads that were working before, but the system no longer likes brand new ads.

I can get an image when it's emailed to me (since I can no longer download them directly from the submission), edit them like I could before, and upload them via FTP (like I could before), but when I try to enter all the new ad information into their web form, it ends up with either a blank space where the ad should show on the Vault site, or the ad doesn't run at all.

Tried approving that mercenary wars ad you mentioned but it ends up with "broken image" so I changed it back to pending approval
Just to let you know that it is not just your problem.

Still the old vault admin panel is quirky: it logs me out whenever I try to access "nwn other" and few other categories while the rest works just fine :-|

Any chance I could get you to resurrect our ad for Argentum Regio? The server is 24x7 and has been for over six years.
