Hi!
Haven't been here in a good long while, and Steam shows I haven't even launched NWN2 in well over 2 years.

As I get ready to fire it up again to play Baldur's Gate Reloaded, I thought I'd poke my head in a bit. Glad to see some familiar faces remain! Hi there! :)

I was hoping also to take the occasion to catch up on some of the big NWN2 news of the past 2+ years. I did see that NWN Vault is still around, thank goodness. NWN2 Nexus and The Vault Preservation project seem like wise initiatives nonetheless.

Any other big NWN2 news worth knowing?

Any new must have player-end overides or tools as I get ready to play again?
On my end, I thought that some of you might be interested in knowing (in case it's not already been said) that a few NWN2 modders including myself collaborated on the recent Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition, namely by doing most of the writing for the add-on adventure The Black Pits 2. A fun experience, and nice little payoff for my NWN2 modding days.

Cheers!

EC

For modding stuff, or for mods to play?

Good to hear you back EC.

I think you are going to have your hands full with BGR if that's where you're thinking of starting.

Then there's Matts work on TWA I to III all done and dusted, he worked on the BGEE project as well did he not? He pushed the toolset quite a bit when he did TWA II as Kamal_ has for Crimmor. Both are very worthy mods to try.

My campaign is done to a conclusion if you like a story without the scripted bells and whistles.

The only new/recent custom content I play is KevL's buffing rod and Tchos UI for the partially sighted :) I can heartily reccomend both.

I was wondering the same thing! This thread has arrived at a great time. I hope to have my gaming rig set up in the next few weeks. :)

Welcome back (both)!

There's also Xaltar's Facelift Pack if you want to get rid of some of the hideous faces (not compatible with BGR, but some parts are already included). And whatever you play, make sure to stay away from something called "Trinity". Horrible, horrible module.

Thanks! Sorry for dropping out of the convo like that. Crazy couple of weeks. Should be able to get in a couple hours of good ol' NWN2 action in today.

Yes, Matt wrote some wonderful, snappy dialogue for BG2EE. Really need to get past the dated engine and UI to play the game and see how our quests turned out.

I see there's no lack of new, awesome looking mods. Wish I could play them all!

A head override! Finally! That is the best news. I must try that one.

Should really give that Trinity mod another try... Some people seem to have liked it. ;)

Thanks again guys!

If you only have a short while you might like to try "The Gathering Storm" It's only three to four hours worth, Matt and I wrote that for the community project.

You will be able to guess who did which bits me thinks. By which I mean, if it seems complicated, Matt did it :)
