Isn't control a better version of destroy?
I'm drunk and its been a while, is since it came out, since I played the endings.
What's the downside to control? You don't have to destroy the geth or EDI just tell the reapers to lower their mass effect fields and fly into the nearest sun. Hold on harbinger not you ****, your going to fly about the galaxy first collecting all reaper tech then you get to fly into a sun.
Now I think you lose your human form when you pick control, as I said its been a while and i'm drunk. But seeing as EDI manages to run a dead human body why couldn't Shepard?
By the way i'm not that fussed about the endings, they were a pile of bantha doo doo, I just played a full run throgh of t:(he full series stopping at London, cause after that marauder shields is my canon.
There you go, rip a drunk mans thoughts apart
I may be wrong but...

There is no downside to Paragon Control(Renegade is debatable), plus, this happens:-

Bestest ending eva!

Unfortunately even paragon Reapshep's monologue foreshadows that your preferred scenario will not take place.
Paragon control doesn't fix anything as either the galaxy will eventually rebel against another "ultimate authority" (even a benevolent one) or Reapshep goes psycho bonkers crazy and the galaxy rebels anyway.

Because you are no longer shepard but queen of the reapers. So the cycle will continue unless you exterminate them before they get to that point.

Oh snap!
Well yes, Control seems to be superior to Destroy... except that Shepard dies and having a robot body probably isn't the same (if I remember correctly, 'Shepard' is lost, so he won't be able to converse with old friends or anything. Might have to look up his EC narration.

The downside is the Reapers still live and there is the possibility that they might break free from Shepard's control and resume the harvest.

Control- Become a God.
Synthesis- Join the Gods.
Destroy- Obviously. Destroy the Gods.
The endings are really quite simple. Nor is any one better than any other. They are what they are.

First of all, the Reapers stay around. That's a risk. We can't be sure the Reapers will actually allow Shepard to control them. There's no guarantee the Reapers won't rewrite Shepard as soon as (s)he's become a digital identity. Everyone who ever wanted to control the Reapers or thought he could do so, turned out to be indoctrinated. But Shep can? Yeah, right. Shep is "special" because changed variables and all that. Cool story.
