Are you saying Persona is bad, or something about suicide?MasterScribe wrote...

My negligible interest would skyrocket but I'd have to wait and see still.

That was a good conversation.

A question for some older folks: How common were romances in old-school RPGs?

Anything released before the original Xbox. So...older than twelve years ago? 2002 and before?

So you would be more interested in the game solely based on the idea that a completely optional part of the game that you weren't going to access anyway is removed, even though other people would prefer it?

From what I saw in the (endless) debate about romances, most don't complain about being 'forced' to do romances. But I wasn't debating if it was right or wrong to cut romances. I responded to the part about 'full of people we don't care about' in your post. Cutting off romances wouldn't mean that there'll no be NPC we can care about.Banxey2 wrote...
But how long after they cut romances would it take for people to start complaining about "being forced" to have relationships with friends/rivals? You never actually have to do either, but it's seems like people feel that the resources devoted to relationships should be devoted to cutting the heads off of things.
There have been a fair amount of demands and requests for modern BioWare games based on what older games were like. So yes, if older games handled romance radically differently, that would be a clue as to where this attitude might be stemming from.daveliam wrote...

Are you trying to make a point with this question or are you legitmately asking? Seems a pretty general question given the hundreds of RPGs that were released before XBox.

I'd be interested because that means BioWare would be bold.
