It is being kept very tightly under wraps.  How is it possible that there is not at least one person with a big mouth?  What I mean to say is, look at the ME3 DLC and how that was "leaked."

Perhaps they didn't want a repeat of last time, where the script came out, like, half a year before release? Oh, and the publicity causing a terrible hype train that ruined everything.

Not even GTA V was leaked during its development time, which was from 2008 till 2011 when it was unveiled.

Don't expect anything less for ME4

Yeah, but that still doesn't answer my question.  How do they keep the details in house with all of the people working on the game?  Do they only reveal the script to people that they know they can trust?

Yeah, not to mention they will fire from their respective jobs or even penalize those who end up leaking said information.

Well, there was this guy who was in a fan meeting with Mike Gamble, where they showed art work, landscapes, and two new races to a few fans who had reacted to a Twitter call (which I've seen). They were also shown armours and asked which two races they would drop (of known races)... he posted his experience on the IT forum. It was up there for a few weeks, until other websites picked it up and he had to take his post down for breaking the NDA.

He posted on the IT forums, because he likes IT. I have no idea who it was though. He registered just to post that story, never saw him before or after.

Anyway, he very much got the expression that it was sequel material. But that was just a feeling he got. Nothing definitive that gave it away.

Considering ME3 and all the criticisms it got, I think it would be better for ME4 to keep a low profile.

People would just criticize whatever comes out, even though it would be too early to actually say anything about ME4, just because the trilogy left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. It would kinda be like Affleck and Batman all over again, except it would concern ME4.

How are there no leaks? Tough to say. Maybe they're really secretive about it, or the game might be on the stage where there's really nothing worth saying.

there is a few things certain in the world, the sun rising, and bioware holding onto information like a leaking faucet

Bioware seems to be under a ''show, don't tell'' policy. This seems to be in reaction to ME3's marketing campaign, which overpromised on some aspects and underdelivered on others.

Chances are the game isn't to far advanced either, so not having much to say helps. Either that, or they're really good at keeping secrets this time around (DAI and ME4)

This. Most of what they have right now probably isn't even ready for more than an odd screenshot. I mean, things can be playable in the sense that you can press controls and get a reaction, but what there is for ME4 is probably not much more at this point in time than a few rooms or so. Plus I'm sure that, even before ME3, there were non-disclosure agreements in place, with probably a few more post-ME3, given the leaks there. So I wouldn't expect ANYTHING solid on 4 until at least late summer/early fall, at the earliest.

I am quite optimistic that we will get something at E3, most likely a teaser trailer and some general info about the game.

They still got Dragon Age Inq to sell, I think they will pour all hype into one product at a time.

Once DA:I is out the door they will open up the Mass Effect Next forum and start the marketing of the next thing, assuming the Mass effect game is the next thing, could be something else.

How is it possible that there is not at least one person with a big mouth?

Competent HR? Why is your default assumption that all developers will breach will forward classified documents to the press in breach of their contract?

I bring it up because of all of the ME3 leaks and the leaks with the DLC as I mentioned.  Leaks happen everywhere and it doesn't necessarily mean that your HR department is incompetent.  You just never know who you can trust nowadays.   Anyways, it does make a bit of sense since they already had the leaks and they would be more careful this time around.  Still, as careful as you may be, people are very tenacious as we know and would do almost anything to find a smidgeon of information.

Major leaks have even happened with Activision on previous titles.  They are currently the number one game publisher because of the Call of Duty franchise.

Inquisition's upcoming release + ME3's leak issues = trying a lot harder to keep things under wraps.

Considering the leaks that happened with ME3? It's best they do their best to keep it under wraps.

Yes because we need more leaks so BW can rewrite that entire script too gaining plot hole galore, character inconsistency and retcons, and rushed narratives along with repeating the fiasco of the pick your color endings! No thanks BW needs to threaten the employees with their lives if they actually want to make a successful game and restore consumer trust in their writing, plot, and character creation skills.

I don't why people are so insistent that BioWare hasn't done anything but gotten the basic mechanics down yet. It's been almost two years. The Montreal team hasn't been paid to go into work and do nothing. It's a pretty safe bet they're in full production mode.

There are no leaks because the team is being tight with security. Really, are you honestly expecting leaks just because you want them?

They've taken special security precautions to maintain the loyalty of their team

Weren't the ME3 leaks all about them leaving other stuff attached to demo's and whatnot? Which obviously wouldn't happen when they aren't releasing anything?

They're not making a new ME. I mean clearly, since there are no leaks - there is no ongoing work on a new game. Right?

Well, I don't want anyone getting fired or doing something stupid like breaching an NDA.  Still, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't curious at to what is coming.  I don't expect any leaks but I just found it a bit odd considering the leaks in the past.
