If you're going to side against the mages, pick the Templar. The Templar has some very useful abilities for disabling magic and has some useful area of effect damage which is handy against all enemy types. Even if you do side with the mages, you'll find that some mages will still be hostile. You also have daemons to contend with.
Berserker is not my favorite specialization. I simply don't like it very much. It's useful though. Every attack you perform (even regular attacks) consumes stamina. Because of this, you probably be annoyed if you use your warrior talents a lot.
Reaver. Interesting specialization. I didn't use this one, but from what I gather, when your health is low you deal more damage. It's a little risky though.
My favorite type of warrior is Weapon & Shield, Defender and Templar. You are resistant versus everything. You're a bit lacking in damage output, but you can spec your followers for that role.
Truth be told, I am more of a mage kind of person. Warriors and rogues aren't my thing. So when I see a pseudo mage specialization I latch onto it.

berserker and reaver are best for dps. templar can be decent situationally i guess.
berserker - use stamina for extra base damage. ability to increase attack speed by 50%.
reaver - deal extra damage proportional to how low your hp is. passive that increases attack speed by 30% upon enemy death.
templar - passive 10% damage against mages/demons. ability to silence enemies (prevent abilities) and dispel enemy spells etc.

I usually go with templar because of the magic disruption. Like Abraham, I usually play a mage and, for me at least, playing a templar at least lets me roleplay that I'm keeping a lid on the magic around me. Reaver and berserker have some cool skills and I'm pretty divided on which I'll pick in any given playthrough.

What he said + Templar's Annulment is bugged since it (as every other Magic Resistance attribute in DA2) lowers the duration of Haste on your character.mr_afk wrote...
