Technically, they gave Eva Core the cameltoe, which carried over to EDI's alternate, optional From Ashes outfit that reuses the same ... uh, build.

Liara's romance scene was super family friendly.

I found it "fulfilling" enough.
Besides, ALL of the ME3's romance scenes were family friendly.

But let's not go there ;)

I wouldn't outright say Ashley sucks, but she does have the fewest dialogue I think. Garrus & Tali have the best dialogues, especially if you didn't romance either of them. Their little flirting every now and then is really sweet.

Why not? It's not like traumatizing events don't cause people to see things in our own world? Are real life fighter pilots deciding if God exists or not when they go through a few extra Gs? Try harder, David. A lot harder.

You can choose your perspective on the evidence. (Well, not really, but that's beside the point.)

You never get to choose the evidence. In such a conversation, the player is basically choosing whether heaven or whatever actually exists or not. Doesn't work that way. You're given the evidence. You don't get to choose it.

I do agree with this.

If I'm not mistaken however, I believe in the rumored conversation the player didn't get to choose whether or not Shepard has a near death experience. I believe Shepard auto-dialogues that he didn't have one, much to Ashley's disappointment. IIRC Shepard doesn't even offer an opinion on what the lack of one might or might not mean. His (or her) response basically boils down to, "Sorry Ash, I've got no more insight than anyone else."

To stop the BSN from posting "Is EDI a futa" before it could get a chance.

Preemptive attacks on the BSN are the best attacks. Also nuclear fire, whenever possible.

Going by a pic I've seen on this forum that is where her omnitool comes in.

Liara's romance scene was definitely the least family friendly. I was joking. Either way, being "family friendly" is the point of an M rated game, so I doubt that is what the writers were going for. Not when there are these things called banshees existing.

And both FemShep and Traynor tested it for EDI

I don't know about Ash's romance, but I loved Kaidan's, especially the Citadel DLC. It's who Kaidan is. I can't understand why people don't like him. I am a huge fan of the character, have always been.

I don't dislike him. He's cool enough. I just don't think a lot either way. Maybe that's what he's supposed to be. Kind of like Jacob. Unobtrusive. "I'm not the kind of guy who's the life of the party, who has a lot of friends." Nothing wrong with that per se.

I actually came to like Ashley a lot during my last play through.

Had a soldier Shep and RP'd a bond with her because of that. They romanced in ME1 but that was it. But I enjoyed having her around - liked her mission dialogues quite a bit.

If I had to pick between the two (Kaiden and Ash) in terms of who had the best character development my hat would be thrown in to Kaiden. Although Kaiden's passive aggressiveness and whiny behavior really grind my gears in ME1 to the point where I nearly leave his butt on Virmire all the time and then I regret having the non-interactive Ash in ME3. (At least on Normandy) Kaiden had vastly superior writing in ME3 compared to Ash's bits in my opinion.

I've never been exactly sure about my lack of fondness for Ashley in ME3. If I had to guess I would say that all the things that made her an interesting character back in ME1 were dropped in ME3. I'm not sure if this is the writer's fault per say but rather interference from on high, like someone in the dev department saw that a lot of people didn't like her religiousness or her lack of xenophilia so they ordered the writer to drop those. Unfortunately, for Ashley's character those aspects were important to her development and I think she suffered for the worse because of it.

I understand the problem with Ashley in ME3, she doesn't always seem invested in the story or in Shepard, even if you romanticize her.
Still... Ashley in ME3 is better than Ashley in ME2 (at least if you didn't romanticize her in ME1).
Seriously, she's a total b*tch when you meet her on Horizon. "Hey Shepard, glad you're alive. What? You're with Cerberus to save the galaxy? I instantly hate you now"

It's not just Ashley. The overall quality of writing took a significant dip in ME3.

Ash is so irrelevant in ME3 that she may as well not exist. In Citadel, she gets some decent lines and scenes (excluding the James crap), but outside of that she has very little interaction with the rest of the squad aboard the Normandy. Even moreso as a soldier, she doesn't seem to have done anything of worth in the MEU.

Compare this to Kaidan who moves around and jokes with the likes of James and Tali, talks about Liara, and has more meaningful autodialogue than "Hey." As a soldier, he seems to have been doing something to justify his promotion, leading and teaching a squad of biotic spec-ops soldiers. Talk about his personality all you want, the dude still has more edge than Jacob and Ash.

To be fair, Shep's response is no better:

"Hey Ash.  Long time no see.  Wanna join Cerberus?  It'll be just like old times"

Throwing back shots with Ash was always a good time in ME3. I had no issues with her scenes or appearance.
