Ashley sucks in ME3? That explains how she jumped up in rank so fast

Tee hee

There is a direct correlation between that and combat potential, didn't you know?

Indeed. Makes for a softer landing in case she trips on the battlefield somewhere.

Wonder what Kaidan must have did then

Must've been something equally heroic, no doubt.

Kaidan tells you exactly what he did and Anderson promoted him.  Kaidan and Garrus are my favorites and if you hate Kaidan in the game, you didn't romance him because he has some great lines and I lso liked him in the Citadel DLC.  The writers were true to his character and frankly why can't there be nice guys in games.  Tell the next nice guy you see out there that he's boring and see how it goes over.

While I think she could have alot more options of Dialogue, I don't feel at all that shes a "boring" character. If you take the time to properly dive into her character and get to know her, you find she has alot of character depth. Now could she have been a little better written in ME3? Sure, I would agree with you on some aspects but the same could be said for Thane, Jacob, Vega, and Legion. I romance Ash so I may be a little biased when I say I don't find her one bit of boring.

Throwing back shots with Ash was always a good time in ME3. I had no issues with her scenes or appearance.

I personally wish we could be even more antagonistic. I'd like to give her a 'reason you suck' speech about herself and her pathetic alliance before finally pulling the trigger on her and putting her out of my misery.

While I'd welcome the RP latitude to criticize the Alliance like we could in Me2, killing the VS is a waste of resources if nothing else. Only one of my Shepards did (guess who), and even then he wasn't the one to pull the trigger.

Trust me; the only thing I'd be using her for is leading fodder. In fact, that's kind of what her asset is; Leading fodder. She's not a resource that is reliable. I'm not getting my value out of her.

She certainly hasn't earned "Lieutenant Commander" or "Spectre" (and takes umbrage when you suggest as such). Shooting her is still a waste.

I'm redoing my canon. Might ship her off to Hackett this time. She has no interactions of note and rarely left the ship.

I prefer to shoot Ash. Nothing personal, but Garrus, Liara, and Joker/EDI all get really good scenes if the VS dies.

The first time I played ME3, I didn't recognise her at all. I saved her on Virmire for my most recent round as I'm playing as a vanguard character so I wanted another ranger. Otherwise, Kaidan is much more useful as he has biotic and tech skills. On a side note, for ME3, if Ashley is saved, Javik is not acquired and Shepard is not a vanguard or adept, the only biotic on the squad will be Liara. Because of that, the allies I missed most from ME2 were Miranda, Jack, Samara and Thane.

Garrus still has a good scene if she lives.  And Paragon SHepard gets one of my favorite lines:

"We start killing our friends, and war turns into murder"

My canon Shepard chose the other dialogue option at that scene, and he's consistent with it. EDI dies when he picks Destroy and he doesn't hold Gerrel's attack on the dreadnought against him.

Well, in game, I typically send her to Hackett or shoot her. In canon, you know my story for her. I wouldn't deem it as a resource that is critical. Granted, she never should have been on the Normandy in the first place.

Ashley is annoying and worthless.

Shouldn't even had been included in the game.

He made the right call. We've been over this. Not looking to go though the dreadnought argument again.

Why is Ashley annoying? Because she voices concerns that TIM might have devised some means to brainwash you? Which by the way as Miranda reveals was a real possibility all along?

My Shepard bawls him out, though he doesn't take the renegade interupt to deck him.

EDI doesn't die when I destroy the Reapers...

Heck Mars illustrates exactly what she was afraid of:  huskified Cerberus troops.  She could have been one of them.  A sleeper agent.

He made a crap call. Really, he did. Outright shutting down communications with the boarding party who going to report on the situation was an irrational decision. And firing on a ship that holds a foreign team being led by the guy leading the charge for the galaxy is arguably the stupidest decision you can make. He's not allowing Shepard and his crew the patience to accomplish their objective. He's putting his own objective over Shepards, and changing his plan without informing any other leadership elements (while endangering them), and missing an opportunity to escape with his people and give Shepard the ability to defuse the Geth situation.

I honestly would have preferred it if Ashley ended up being a sleeper agent of some sort this would have been infinetly better than what we got.

Y'know, I'm fine with mods to put Ashley back in a standard uniform or Miranda in something more respectable and incognito than her same old ME2 catsuit, but as much as one may wish it, MEHEM doesn't undo canon.

Escape was never a viable possibility, even if Shepard can recommend it (the same guy who bitches about them having too many dreadnoughts in a Reaper invasion). According to the Codex, it takes days for their fleet to traverse a relay. They don't have the time to do it.

He was right to destroy the dreadnought, but I agree he could have been smarter about it. As Shepard says, "you did the right thing, just give me a heads-up next time."

If you choose to pursue this argument further, I might have more time to address it this evening.

I don't like it. It's too happy, and gives too much of a happy ending to people.

Mind you, I despise the ending, but the fact that it's sad because the Geth and EDI die is something I've never understood. If I have to kill them (or any other being not named Miranda Lawson or Oriana Lawson), I will do it without hesitation, guilt, or remorse.

Gerrell has an itchy trigger finger. He would've shot at the dreadnought even if his mother or child was onboard. Instead of punching him I would've shot him
