Fans got Patrick Weekes to cave on what Tali's sweat smelled like, so I guess anything is possible.Didn't we get her writer to say that she wasn't trying to get pregnant?

I doubt she was trying to get pregnant as artificial insemination seems much more practical.
Gotta wonder sometimes what they think of us...
Degenerates, degenerates all of you.
Gunnery Chief Williams
Trying way too hard, brah. People call Liara a stalker but who showed up in my cabin despite NO flirtation attempts and absolutely no propositioning? That's right, poetry-warrioress-hobag Me1 Williams. I tell her no and she's still like, "Oh right, gotta focus on the mission. But one night I'll rock your world Shepard!" Sorry Ashley, I only bed alien females who can potentially die from the germs.
I'll take ME3 Ashley anyday, a girl who just wants to hang out and throw back a shot as opposed to rufie me at the dining hall so she can go "claim-sies!" in Liara's face.
Should I speculate on why Miranda is one of the few people to meet TIM "personally"?
Sure. Granted, it's a lot different than Ashley's. Miranda did earn her place in Cerberus. I really can't say the same for Ashley's impossible jump in rank.

Yeah, and we also got a tweet saying that her hookups were not during ME2. Her name on the dating sites, LawBringerSR2, was acknowledged as an oversight by her writer.

Star Wars promotions.
Combine a lack of real world experience with the military and a lack of research on topics you plan to write about, and you get stuff like nonsensical leaps up the chain of command. Most likely someone without any understanding of what a Staff NCO or Petty Officer is or does, thought Ashley's rank was too low after ME1.
On that note I have to give Bungie some credit for keeping its protagonist in Halo a Master Chief.

He's been a Master Chief for a very long time by now....
And iirc that isn't an officer rank, you'd think he'd have earned a field commission by now

A Master Chief is the navy equivalent of a Sergeant Major. Basically its the senior enlisted rank.
That's kind of why I dig that Bungie didn't go the field commission route. Far too often in fiction with a military backdrop characters are made officers, because writers with civilian backgrounds don't know what NCOs or Staff NCOs are and assume Lieutenant is the first rank with any authority.
I like Ashley as a squadmate. I use her more than anyone else in ME1. I romanced her only because I wanted the trophy and my femshep only romances Samantha. I found Ashley to be very tough in ME1
In mE2 on Horizon I wanted to beat the crap out of her even when I romanced her for her comments. I was also upset that I wasn't given the opportunity to explain things in more detail. I wonder why Bioware did that. After finding out my body was given to Cerberus by T'soni I wanted to tell Ashley, but was never given that chance. I would be curious to see the reaction on Ashley's face if she knew.
In ME3 I wanted to smack her in the head about her comments on Mars. When back on the ship she is like a mini tank on missions. I give her the Black Widow and the enemies drop like flies. Having her and James together work well for me.
I like having an all-human squad
ME1 Ashley and Kaidan until Virmire
ME2 Miranda and Zaeed
ME3 James and Ashley(when she becomes available)
I would say throughout the whole trilogy she is the most used squadmate for me. Had ME2 squadmates been on the Normandy in ME3 it would be Miranda who is my favorite squadmate.
If I remember correctly, if Tali is dead there is no replacement for Rael'Zorah on the admiralty board. Six months later, they still have only four. That should tell us something (as she put it, "Quarians like to debate").
They're not perfect. I've never claimed they were, and I don't defend everything they do - only in this instance, Gerrel made the right call (even if he was an ass about it).
Ah but without Legion/Geth VI warning them about the Reaper base on Rannoch, the Quarians would have been slaughtered when they tried to retake the planet.
So yeah, in hindsight Gerrel made the wrong call.
Do you really want to start this again?Ah but without Legion/Geth VI warning them about the Reaper base on Rannoch, the Quarians would have been slaughtered when they tried to retake the planet.

Well I wasn't here a few days ago so I couldn't add that point then. That's all I'm saying.
Fair enough. I could answer that, but I really don't want to get sucked into the debate again.Well I wasn't here a few days ago so I couldn't add that point then. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, I didn't mean to kick things off. It was just an observation I had.
So...Ashley, eh?

Yuck.
Well I gotta say I understand where people are coming from. But she was my FemShep Vanguard's BFF in ME1 so I gotta stay loyal, at least with that Shepard. And my Adept who romanced her. But the others, not so much.
She was alive in my canon playthrough. I got some mesh mods to resolve the appearance issues. Too bad she really has no content after the Coup unless you romance her.Well I gotta say I understand where people are coming from. I'll agree with that. I like the content you get with Kaidan better.

Unfortunately I'm a lowly console player so mods are no use to me.
But, I agree that it's a shame how the straight talking, assertive Ash from ME1 disappeared. That's the woman Amelia Shepard was proud to call her friend. That's the woman Zack Shepard fell in love with. ME3 Ash seems like a different person. And yeah, war changes people but nobody else seems to have their characters nerfed the way Ash does.

Lets get facts straight here......she has as much content after the coup as Kaiden....four conversations. It is just that hers is on the Citadel more than the Normandy. And she has content on missions as well, such as Turian Platoon and Bomb. Bring her to Eden prime as well for a change.
And really she is the best person to bring to Horizon, because she is the most impacted emotionally by what's going on in sanctuary.

Its called character development.
And if you think she isn't a straight talker and assertive in ME3, you'd be incorrect.
Its called character development.
Actually, a different person wrote Ash in ME3 than in ME1, and that's a big part of why her personality shifted so much.
