This was actually mentioned in one of the embargo-day articles, I believe. Medi-gel is now used to revive downed squadmates.

the relationships is to find out who will do what, I won't spoil that

I must share the admission of some in finding Yeoman Chambers really quite attractve. But, yes, I do believe it has been almost clarified that Kelly is not a long term Love Interest, but more along the lines of the Consort from ME1. Which makes sense in the long term.

Frankly, I can appreciate the fact that the Devs and Writers provided a female companion who essentially falls into the no strings attached catagory for those players, both male and female, that want the Hero who gets the girl experience without having to deal with the drama of one Male or Female Squad mate getting upset with you because you slept with the Female/ Male Sqaudmate that he or she does not care for.

I can not help but find it funny that given the fact Yeoman Chambers is the Captain's Aide, Bioware essentially gave the players the chance to, "Sleep with their Secretary."
