I already know some of these things, but thank you, you've been most helpful, especially with the tips for Krogan Warlord ^^. Two questions about that class, though; first, I don't have to care about weight, right? Since I put Tech Armor on just once (I suppose that exploding it is too risky), and put Biotic Hammer on only every once in a while, weight doesn't really affect me, yes? And second; is there a point in taking a long-range weapon, like a pistol or semi-automatic rifle? It seems viable for those times when you have to escort a drone or hack stuff, but perhaps I'd be better off rage-rushing mobs instead of helping out with these tasks?

P.S. What does "b/c" stand for?

Weight actaully does matter with him since you will have a cooldown everytime you engage Biotic Hammer.  If you click the link for the Warlord build, you'll see that your cooldown with be like 8 seconds.  If you equip really heavy weapons, then you won't be able to use your Biotic Hammer as often.  You're more than welcome to try long/medium range weapons if you want.  In my opinion, the lolReegar Carbine with the Omniblade is the best option for him.  The Reegar is riiiiiiidiculously good at dealing with shields/barriers of bosses...then it's just a few swings of Biotic Hammer to finish the bosses off.  But since you don't have that yet, I picked a shotgun just for the Omniblade....it's "optimal" since the way I set him up is for melee.  Again, feel free to experiment and use what's comfortable.

b/c stands for "because".

Heh, okay, sure. I can't play too often, having other things to do, but I'll give you a poke every now and then. I'm often playing with another friend. He's a better player than I, so we wouldn't suck too many chocolate salty balls :D.Seeing how we're doing, we should try Gold matches in maybe two weeks, maybe earlier for him.

Speaking of Origin, it's a bit annoying that I cannot open it without opening ME2 or ME3. When I use Windows' "Search" button, I can't find the application. D'uh.

Try the Tempest SMG. Better than most of the Assault Rifles until you start getting Ultra Rares.

Be aware the melee builds are quite a bit harder to play in Gold, and even more so in Platinum.

RedJohn wrote...
Forget about that strategy, buy only 99k packs and you won't even touch common weapons because you will get rares inmediately.

Level 1 Rares, which are worse than the best Uncommons. And will take forever to level up, because the Rare pool is fricken huge.

No.

99k Packs are for those on a Platinum level income. As a Bronze/Silver player, you should buy Vet Packs.

General rule: if it takes you more than one match to earn a pack, you're buying the wrong pack.

Will people stop telling new players fitness is overrated ...

OP, fitness is overrated (if you have like 1000 plus hours of play and know every map/spawn/enemy location at all times)

For the Vorcha Soldier skip Carnage and take power damage at every evo possible. General consensus on the flamer is to take range (4b) damage (5a) and armor damage (6a)

He will play gold matches that will last more or less 15 minutes, I added him. So he will be able to afford that :)

You have a TSol, you have a Tempest, you have an SMG mag and heatsink. Gain some AP ammo, unleash the destruction.
You have a TSent, you have an eviscerator. Learn how to shotgun.
Those two will help you to learn a lot of things and to kill a lot of things. And they will help you to obtain and max your Claymoar for HSol.

This man is right.

Actually OP, if you want we can do a Tempest Tsol run :)

And a good thing OP, your TSol and TSent aren't deployed yet.

[edit]
So here are the builds I suggest you try.

TSent I run this build right now (except I have a PPR), warp or incendiary (cheeze) ammo will work better when you have HVB, right now standard barrel + AP/Drill I is a better choice, or substitute barell for shredder if you out of ammo (ok for silver). His overload will strip shields from gold phantoms (and of course from silver those) in one cast so not be afraid to host. Evi is actually a decent gun (it's just badly outshined by rare shootys) and you'll max it soon. Tanky as hell, good damage output, great CC, he will carry your ass through a lot of troubles and will teach you a lot of things.
Reedem him when you have PPR or arc pistol.

TSol PM - start firing - stop and engage MM - continue firing. Or just MM-start firing, depends on mood. Tempest TSol is totally plat viable and you will be surprised how fast things are dying on silver. Tip - do not ADS to often.
That being said, he is very ammo dependant (AP/Drill I are must) and it's better not to host vs carebears until you know how to deal w on-host phantoms.

OP has the awakened collector, which is an immensely powerful character even without weapons

I recommend this
The collector has the ability to cancel cooldowns on his powers, allowing two powers to share one.
The reliable way is to fire dark sphere, us another power, and then detonate the sphere for a massive explosion
A buggy, less reliable way to cancel SS is to fire dark channel after the animation starts, but only works off host
Also as a side note, dark sphere rank 5 damage over time is bugged, and reduces the powers effectiveness, so always take recharge

Not sure if you talked to me or to someone else, MGW7 ^^, but if to me, then I'll tell you I don't like that class. Too many skills. I like to have not more than two active skills, and as little "complications" regarding them (when to use them, how to use them, thinking about explosions, etc.) as possible. That's why I like Soldiers and Sentinels, at least the ones I'm playing.

Well! Promoted both these classes, time to use the builds jrob6 provided.

If you don't like the active powers, then you could us SS for dr and never touch it again, and then use DS as a biotic grenade to destroy groups, or DC if you don't like DS, He is a great weapons platform, an is quite tanky compared to many classes

Thanks for all the help, I've got all I need to start kicking more ass than I did before ^^. Much appreciation, much love. As I mentioned, I'm hunting for N7 Destroyer and N7 Paladin character cards. I've read a bit on those classes, and they seem both very cool. If you'd like to, I'd happily take any tips you guys could give me on these classes. Destroyer, I'd like to play as a walking artilerry, shooting out heavy machine guns and rockets (I've heard that rocket builds for Destroyers are less effective, but heck, I can throw grenades as a Soldier). As a Paladin, I'd like to go melee, using his shield, supporting myself with guns if viable.

Wellp, it may be a long time before you get your destroyer, but I reccomend to spec him out of HML (or put 3 points in it), DM - acurracy-RoF-damage, MFG - range - N of nades - N of clusters, Passives for weapon damage, Full healt fitness.
Any weapon that feets TSol will shine on Destroyer as well.

I Utterly recommend you to start using TSol right now to get acquainted with weapon platforms. Everything you learn from TSol will pay back in double with Destroyer and GI (not to mention, that TSol himself is a platinum beast).

about your last question, i would personally stick to veteran and spectre packs until you max your uncommons and rares, this way later on your "uncommon slot" wont be taken by low lvl weapons but rather by useful equipment

Alright, I'll give Tempest TSol a go. Tried few matches with my new Vorcha build. Doesn't work that well - I need a lot of practice to make shotgun work, and I die way too often. As for Destroyer, is there no viable way to use rockets?

There is (PPR build), I don't find them too useful personally.

Learn to shotgun with TSent.

They work great, and are only outshined by the grenades if you spam them everywhere,I spec 6/6/3/6/5. 3 points in grenades is more than enough for clutching when you need them, and seeing the mini cobra atomize things is awesome

I actually think phaeston is quite good choice on him. I think I use claymore on him(or on sentinel, not sure which one but it works on both), but unfortunately you don´t have it yet. With incendiary ammo, you are increasing your chances of fire explosions. Dodge a lot. His dodge has good reach and it´s fast. Don´t be afraid to do break dance on the field. Image IPB Image IPB

Yeah, I'm slowly learning to dodge a lot with this Vorcha. You think Phaeston will do well? I'm glad, because I think of skipping shotgun and going back to this AR. Shotgunning seems not to be my thing, especially not with shotgun with only few shots per clip. As for TSent, dunno, I think I've got enough classes to play with right now. Maybe later ^^. Gonna log on and try TSol right now.

Tried him, and while it was good, I'm gonna give TSol a go with Revenant and Phaeston, too. Will Locust work, too? Got Locust lvl III now.

I'm pretty lame when it comes to creating character builds (I blame lots of mechanics that are not explained in-game. Or that I'm simply stupid), so I'd love you guys to help me out if you feel like it. Keep in mind that I'm a newb that isn't good enough to try Gold or Platinum matches yet, so neither my skills nor available gear are great.

1st - Vorcha Soldier. I really like that class, and I'd like you guys to help me create a viable build that involves Flamer. I love that toy, which allows me to fry groups of mobs or single elite mobs with ease. Any tips on such build? Should I use Bloodlust, or forget about it? What guns go well with that build?

Can't really help you much there other than by telling you, that you should always spec into Bloodlust.  I like the Vorchas, just not the soldier...

2nd - Human Soldier. I know that Human Soldier is an underpowered class (like many Soldier classes, from what I heard), but I like him. I'd love to have a build that involves both Concussion shots and Frag Grenades. Is that a possibility? I already know that best weapons for Soldiers are assault rifles, especially semi-automatic ones. I'm running Vindicator right now, waiting until I level Mattock.

Argus works well on him, though so does the Mattock (which is a great AR all around, even at lvl 1).  I tend to focus on using Frag Grenades and Adrenaline Rush, though CS is a life saver on gold and plat.  Go with the shield boost evolution and it'll regen a 1/4 of your shields.  P.S.: He isn't underpowered.  Not sure where you got that idea.

3rd - Krogan Warlord. I grew very fond of this class. It seems playing a melee class in multi works well for me. I love it how Krogan Warlord allows me to make some degree of mistakes and still get my ass alive out of the fray due to his HP and shield, and how I one-two shot every lesser mob. Which Hammer should I choose, or should I run with both? Should I care about weight? Use shotgun with bayonet, or go for some other weapon?

I go with Biotic Hammer and leave Electric Hammer alone because Biotic Hammer does MASSIVE dmg to armor and most of the sub-bosses and bosses have armor.  Tech Armor specced for durability.  For the shottie, I suggest going with the Disciple or Wraith and throwing on the Shotgun blade attachment or the Omni-blade attachment.  The Disciple and Wraith because they are relatively light-weight for their dmg.

I've also got a more general question. Which is more beneficial to me, a new player - buying Spectre bundles, or saving for better ones? I've saved up for a few Reserve packs, since I very much want an N7 Destroyer and N7 Paladin classes to try out, but it's biting my supplies, particulary medi-gel is low.

To anyone who cares to answer even some of these questions, thanks! Much love.

Hmm...  Honestly, you should focus on Veteran packs and Jumbo packs to get the uncommon gear, weapons, mods, and characters out of the way so you don't have to suffer through buying dozens of Reserves packs, only to get uncommon characters again and again.  Same with the Arsenal packs.  Get the uncommons out of the way and it'll be easier for you to get rares and ultra rares over and over.

Hope this helps!Image IPB
