 Who was in your group the most in both dao and da2? 

Do you see yourself sticking to certain party members in dai if they prove effective?

first play through I usually roll dps warrior.

It really depends on the sort of character I'm playing who's in my party. But for my most often-used character builds...

Though sometimes I'll swap Shale for Alistair. Sten, Zevran, Oghren and Morrigan are rarely in my active party.

If I'm playing a Spirit Healer myself, though, I will swap out Anders for Merrill (DPS) because Anders is a ****** and I can't stand him. Unfortunately I can't be without a healer and Merrill is no good for it. Sometimes I do swap her for Isabela though because I am fond of Merrill.

I like to mix it up myself, so I don't really have any "go to" companions. At the very least I try to have at least one rogue and one mage, but... that's about it.

In DAO, it was a lot of fun running around with 3 mages... all with Haste on. And carpet-bombing the opposition.

 DA:O -- Zevran and Morrigan (the last spot was a rotation of my Warrior companions).
DA:A -- all got about equal time, save for Justice-nonsense who was a late addition.
DA2 -- all got about equal time.

I found the party size in DA:A and DA2 to be ideal.

I tend to bring most companions with me for personality rather than game play in Bioware games.

And often this results in different PCs having different preferences. My first Hawke's main bros were Fenris and Aveline for most of the game. My second Hawke's were Isabella and Merrill, which were ironically the two the first one got alone with the least.

Da:o has been pretty mixed for me. I usually play as a mage or warrior, bring Alistair, another mage and another tank. Right now I let Zevran tag along alot. Leliana I never use much. Rarely use dog.

The rule is I always choose one mage then choose randomly. In DAO I usually brought Wynne because I'm not usually a mage and I didn't have Morrigan really developed as a healer until later in the game. My favorite party is Morrigan, Shale, and Sten. (which I tend to use on the archdemon)

In DA2 my canon is a warrior tank. Little bit more freedom than my rogue warden because I always had a tank around. My favorite party was Bethany, Varric, and Fenris. I tend to use Bethany (and Carver) as much as I can because she leaves for most of the game, and Varric because he's telling the story so I figure he needs to be there for most of it. And Fenris just for a token elf. :3
