I always thought Kelly's was underappreciated. Here she's always bright and cheerful, has sex with you, feeds your expensive fish, then you dump her for someone else on the ship. What does she do in return? She sends information about you to The Illusive Man. And what does that bos'htet do? He puts a hit on her. And despite all of that she rescues your fish for you!!!

I have a Shepard who only tried to romance her. It was a beautiful story. I didn't feel like I was missing anything at all by not romancing anybody else.

Also, to an earlier poster who asked if you get paired with Liara if you choose nobody, the answer is no. No one was at the locker with me in ME1 nor came to me before Ilos, and no game tried to default Liara as having been with me after that.

Yeah, I keep hearing about that with Liara, but never ran into it either.

It defauls in Citadel DLC (after the sushi shootout) and in the opening for ME2 on PS3. Those are the only wo points I can remember.

Oh I know what you mean. I just figured she's just being used as a convenient placeholder NPC there. It's not like you're officially flagged as romance. BTW, does Cortez show up in that Citadel part?

sadly no he doesn't. Even though he's in my apartment, and is perfectly able to fight in the archives...<_<

Yeah, I don't see why he wasn't there. He must be a bonafide combat character now. Unless they just wanted to be fair to Traynor (or the ME2 characters).

Or maybe just laziness? Lets employ Occam's razor. That always works.

The one thing bothers me is why couldn't Steve, Miranda, Jack and Samantha escort Shepard during the casino mission? They can distract the guard al well or better than the others.

I didn't romance any of the above outside my FailShep playthrough, but I agree - with the exception of Steve, all had their combat AI/models implemented for Armax. Citadel was amazing, but it would have been a nice treat for the ME2 'mancers to experience that in the main quest. Come to think of it, Jack in formal, modest attire for the casino mission would be funny as hell. Bonus points if she's excessively proper when speaking to the guards until spewing a cloud of pent-up profanity upon finally entering the office.

Do you guys get Liara as the default escort if you romance Jack or Miranda? I read that Single!Shep defaults to her. Little surprise.

I don't know. It sucks, but I just bear with it. Note to Bioware: I'd prefer enjoying the games fully, and not merely "bearing with it".

Credit where it's due: at least we don't all get served Blueberry in Shepard's "dying" flashbacks anymore.

Well, Traynor is more personnel, not a soldier (like Cortez... I'm assuming at least). She couldn't have helped out in that scene when the Mercs show up. Maybe they just wanted to be fair by excluding both.

Unfortunately Samantha's talents lies in R & D. I'm sure the last time she fired a weapon would've been her yearly qualification test.

I like Steve and I would've prefered him showing up instead of ...........

You can choose from the ME3 squad plus Wrex for the casino, but ME2 love interests (that is to say Miranda and Jack) are excluded. When ambushed in the restaurant, your first-on-the-scene rescuer will be Liara unless you romanced Garrus, Tali, Ashley or Kaidan.

It's your standard squad, plus Wrex if he's alive.

Right, so you do have some choice in the matter.

Yeah, my Jack-romancing Shepard took Ashley, who he romanced in ME1.  That was ... interesting, actually.

Ahhhh.  I was misinterpreting what was meant by "escort" there, actually.  Right.

Don't you remember, it's okay for the writers to change what Shepard thinks, even if the player wants them to think somethingelse. It is perfectly natural and all part of being heroic.

Just how many catfights are possible in ME3? I know (per YouTube) there are exchanges of varying degrees of hostility on the dreadnought depending on if you've locked in with one or not, but are there references to past infidelities in Citadel too? I only took two of my Shepards through it; one was loyal to Kaidan throughout and the other was loyal to Tali.

Edit: now that I think of it, Ashley was NOT happy when JayneShep cheated with Miranda (and Kelly, and Jack) and lied to her about it in the hospital...
