Since the Citadel DLC has the Collectors as a faction to fight in the Armax Arsenal Arena(AAA), is it possible that the memory leak from the Collectors within the Retaliation DLC may also be in the Citadel DLC as well? Given that the PS3 version is the worse ported version of Mass Effect 3 and Unreal 3 Engine is crap on PS3 along with not being able to install the Game Data into the PS3 HD, makes Mass Effect 3 virtually unplayable after long hours of playing. I noticed that after Retaliation DLC came out, I started to experience really bad framerate drops unlike when I first played it back in September 2012. I don't think it really matters if you ever do fight the Collectors at all either in the AAA or in Multiplayer, it's still gonna leak and cause even more horrible framerates.

Yep. Unreal engine 3 games always struggle on PS3. I mean, have you ever played Spec ops the line or Bioshock infinite on PS3.... lulz. The frames and screen tearing is terrible.

Same with Mass Effect on PS3. I don't know what really to say. I've got 3 playthroughs of ME3 on PS3 and I've noticed this after about 3 hours straight of playing. I agree it's the memory thing.

I can't think of anything to do. I truly believe if you could install it to the hard drive it would fix all these issues.

It might fix more of the framerate pauses that happen occasionally and loading issues along with long loading times, but it won't fix the issue of the leak. The only thing you can do is reset your PlayStation 3 to get rid of the excess build up. Mass Effect 1 and 2 do not give me problems, but on the PS3 for ME2, if the person holding the Biotic bubble to carry the team through the seeker swarm is unloyal, it can cause that character to teleport to the next checkpoint. This can be hazardous to the save checkpoint and Shepard + the squad.

ME2 has issues on PS3-like the one you just said. It looks great-and yet ME3 doesn't look as good as ME2 on PS3??? But ME2 still has screen and frame issues. Albeit, not nearly as bad as ME3.

It's unreal engine 3. It's lame.

I like the fact that PlayStation 3 + Unreal Engine 3 + Mass Effect 3 = Bad Framerates. There's a sign with the 3s.

But yeah, I'm not sure if the dialogue cutoffs in ME2 are a result of the UE3, but it does have some problems. But it's not very noticeable in ME1 and ME2. They feel smooth enough...

I agree, BioWare went full retard when the dev'd for ME3 on PS3.

Just lazy and un-polished. much like the game itself. No matter what platform.

PC had major issues and launch too. The "cleanest" version of ME3 was probably 360... And let me tell you, it wasn't really "clean", still a mess with glitches and bugs out the butt.

I have no clue if 360 has motion blur or not like the PC version. But PS3 is hands down the worse. You know, if you start skipping cutscenes after Shepard destroys the Reaper near the citadel beam, your run to the beam will have very very low framerate due to all of the destruction around you needing to be rendered at the same time.

Oh, aye, yeah. That final run to the beam is awful if you've been playing a while. By a while I mean just as far back as Cerberus HQ.

Yeah, I can play maybe 5 matches in the arena, doesn't matter which faction, before I start to lag. God help you if you do the challenges and that final fatal error map.

I didn't encounter any issues with the Collectors in the AAA. I managed to get the arena-related trophies without any problems. Maybe I didn't spend enough time fighting the Collectors specifically for it to trigger those issues. I know early UE3 games came off worse on PS3 but in my experience those issues seemed to have been ironed out, at least with games like BioShock Infinite and Dishonored.

It's odd how ME3 has framerate issues in some areas though. It doesn't make the game unplayable for me but it's still somewhat noticeable. Sprinting through the Citadel sometimes feels like the game is struggling to keep up with what I'm doing. It's more noticeable early on but improves during/after Mars. This didn't happen in ME2 which just felt a lot smoother in general.

If you play Omega DLC when you're already experiencing some framerate issues already, high chance that the framerate will kill you. Happened to me, my Shep just dropped dead after a heavy melee attempt.

First time I played Citadel, I was heading to the arena for the first time, walked through the turnstile and Shep just fell over dead. Most bizarre, yet hilarious death I'd ever seen in ME. With everything he'd been through, I wasn't really surprised.
