Because it is fantasy game not reality. And practical armor are boring.

Says you.

[:huh:Wait people actually gave Morrigan new robes? Personally I thought her robes were fine.

:D LOL!  The appearance of the robes after Flemeth is killed are the same.  Fear not the risk of missed side-boob.

I could care less about sideboob (gay). I thought her robes reflected who she was as a character.

Really, as a straight player, so do I.  That's why I always give her the new robes I earn her for doing her companion quest.  I think she ought to have what I found for her.  Her signature look just makes me chuckle.  And feel a draft.

I respect others opinions over what might seem inappropriate armor for female genders, and even agree with it. I would still always like to have those "Red Sonja" armor options available for times when I just want to turn my brain off and enjoy a little "guy" time (since it's all fantasy anyway) and run around as a sexy chick in a revealing outfit.

Wait, what was wrong with the boots?

I think he was referring to the Dalish/elves no longer wearing shoes.

Pretty much.

Well, heck, what *are* they wearing, then? Methinks it's really stupid to be wandering about a forest or a gritty city street without some sort of footwear for protection.

As for the armors, well, the DA team at Bioware seems to have their heads screwed on straight, so I doubt we'll deal with any sort of controversy. Practical is the way to go, and that seems to be exactly what they're doing.

Mass Effect is another story ...

Well there is no point of wearing heavy armor then you have energy shields.

Bioware's good at having reasonable female armor, and usually at worst Bioware's female armor designs are maybe unrealistically "Snug".

I personally don't have a problem with ****** flopping around in a suit of hide armor made out of 3/4's of a rabbit, but equal representation at least. If that wasn't clear enough, maybe the word banana hammock will be.

Perhaps it is better to have a little something for everyone. If I don't like the look I don't have to wear it. And if there are 50 or so armors I'm bound to find one that I like. I can't wait to see the female version of the "that HAT' set. It has the kind of feel I always envision for my rogues.

I just hope putting the Inquisition's sigil on everything is optional. Am I the only one who thinks it looks like Hermeus-Mora from Skyrim?

The idea that it's 'sexist' to enjoy attractive female armors is absurd. For those that want to cover their female characters from head to toe in armor, that's fine, but it's also 100% fine to prefer they wear attractive outfits instead, and anybody that tells you different is just plain wrong. Morrigan's outfit was a great example, for those who didn't like it, it was easy enough to change her into something else, but for the vast majority of us who did like it, we'd like more such outfits, not less. Anyone who is 'offended' by attractive outfits can simply not use them, but as I don't live in the middle east, I prefer the female characters in my games to not be covered from head to toe. More attractive outfits, not less, is what I'd like to see in DAI.

So - attractive, at least when it comes to females = showing skin.

Got it.

and to be fair, in DA2 Hawke is pretty good too

I personaly liked Jacks Beltbra it suted her style but ME3 went and messed that up.
honestly if its done right sexy or just armor with some skin can be good without being just gratuitous.
what i never understood was the flack Red Sonja gets for the chain mail bikini when her male sidekick ( she had one.) wore less than her. (Furry underpants.)
as i often say if the girl is going to be nude the guy has to be to no double standards.
but this is more a running gag in the fantasy genera as a whole thats going away i think.

The Dragon Age games have never had a problem with female armor. Armor typically looked the same for both sexes. However, I would be extremely dumb to leave out Isabela and her lack of armor, but she was the only example that comes to mind.

Never said DA had a problem and most if not the majority of the fans want more practical armor ad for the rogue armor its still practical and one of my faves.

The only problem I have with the armours seen thus far is that Cassandra looks to be about half as wide as the chap next to her in the same suit of armour. If she's a veteran warrior I somehow doubt she's going to be svelte.

Dragon Age has been pretty good about this aspect. The only real issue is the Dailish armor and that pretty much it.

It seems to be a choice made and imposed by the artists, given what the writers have said about it. Some of the dialogue from Merrill and Fenris also seems to poke fun at them having no shoes. I'm hoping that the Dalish protagonist can wear shoes.

Common sentiment was that DA2 elves were part hobbit.

Welsh hobbit. A bit stale and quite cheesy.

I just want some skimpy, revealing male outfits too, is that so much to ask?
