I do not need other peoples opinions as evidence now do I?
That would assume that evidence is merely an opinion.

Once moar, the mages shall rule Thedas....and...we shall have peace...NOT !
Even though I love playing as a mage, I honestly hate the idea of being in power just for being a mage. I would rather teach other aspiring mages or conduct alchemical experiments or practice spells or conduct research & excavations.
Now that's an ideal mage life !
To me that is what being a mage is about. Using your arcane power to achieve intellectual and magical fulfillment on my own terms. To be smart, scholarly and intelligent.
That's what being a mage is about to me. Mage is not just being magically superior but intellectually superior.
Screw the Tevinters and the Chantry. Many Tevinters cannot seem to accept realities (that they are not what they used to be, engaging in slave trade). The Chantry just want to lock mages up and use us for enchanting and alchemy.
As for blood magic, I view it like the necromancy. As long as it is used for research / academia ethically (use your own blood, no slaves, etc), I see no problem with it.
Leave the world wrecking nonsense to these power hungry non-mages...
If I were to take part in politics and ruling as a mage, I would rather be a diplomat / ambassador / advisor than an ruler.
But maybe that's just me.
