so, i wanted to download me2 from psn, since my ps3 no longer plays discs. i have all of the dlc you can purchase in the store already. my question is what is the difference between the standard version of me2 and the ultimate edition. the utl edition states that it includes memories of kasumi and the lair of the shadow broker (which cannot be purchased on their own) among other dlcs. the standard edition says nothing about dlc. are kasumi and lair only included with the ultimate edition or is this a marketing scheme to make you think you have to buy the ult edition?
question about psn version

On the PS3, Kasumi and Shadow Broker appear to be included on every version of the game by default. Given that ME1 is sold on PSN only when not part of the Trilogy boxset, and that it is highly likely for it's save files to interact with a disc version of ME2, I think you should be able to use the PSN version of ME2 no problem. However, it is a common practice for the digital version of a game to not read the save files of the physical version, and vice versa.
Have you considered backing up your PS3's HDD and getting the disc drive repaired?
