Since she melded with Shepard, Liara should possess the Cipher and yet she clearly states that she doesn't. Just a thought that came to me. :alien:

The cipher is like the Elder Wand. Only by defeating its master can you gain its power. Come on, OP.

Thorian, Prothean, and Asari voodoo to be exact.

There seems to be some unspoken ability in ME1 for Asari to "give/take things" from their melding partners. Benezia "took" the Mu Relay's location from the Rachni Queen (in a way that was apparently regrettable), and Shiala "gave" Shepard the cipher.

Shepard probably can't "give" Liara the cipher, and it may be too dangerous/redundant for her to "take" it from him.

Did Shepard say "Liara, I'm going to give you the Cipher that Shiala gave me that she took from the Thorian?" No. Shepard did not.

But remember that Shiala said, "I was not gentle."

Therefore, Liara never got The Cipher.

Did Liara use the same kind of meld Shiala used to give Shepard the Cipher? Or do you think that the asari meld copies all information held by the participants perfectly (which would render all forms of education redundant - revise for geometry, and just one short meld later you'll have perfect knowledge of algebra, biology, chemistry, and so on up to zoology if you team up with your friends)

I can't tell how much information she really gathered. Enough to make her sick. lol. They never really get into it. It's one of the more annoying things about her character to me though - and I don't mean to Liara bash. Miranda has a similar problem - she's kind of a scholar of all things Shepard. I preferred how other characters get to know you more slowly. It's more in line with what I'm used to.

Asari are the organic version of Geth except much sexier.

Probably because she is a pureblood. You know you can't trust a pureblood
