So, any news about ME4? Even if it's not official. Gossips, rumours, I don't care tbh, just something fresh. Haven't visited this site for years(literally), so I missed a lot, I guess.

What's the latest stance on IT? Are the debates still alive and kicking or everyone has given up?

What of the 'Retake ME3' movement? How did it end?

Latest rumours in regards to ME4 time setting. Before, during, after ME3? Parallel universe? Reboot?

Is the Marauder Shields meme still alive?

Chris Priestly and Ninja Stanley Woo still moderating this place? I missed those badass devil smilies and 'End of the Line's

Cheers :alien:

1. Not much.

2. Once in awhile IT creeps back into a discussion. Everyone else points and laughs until it goes away.

3. The whole Retake thing, as ridiculous as it could sometimes be, probably was responsible for the Extended Cut. I'd consider that an accomplishment even if the most fanatic of the Retakers wouldn't. As for the Retakers themselves, I'm guessing most have since drifted on to other games. The most fanatical probably boiled to death in pure concentrated rage.

4. It is looking to be something other than a sequel. Walters said in an interview that it won't have any connection to the 'Shepard events.' That means either a prequel, alternate universe, or the stranger-in-a-strange-land route, where the protagonist is entirely cut off from news of the events of the Shepard trilogy. Speculate away!

5. I haven't seen it on the BSN in awhile.

6. Stanley Woo is still here. I'm not sure about Priestly.

GamesRadar just ran one of their top 7 articles with the IT in it. Meh, whatever.

The Retake thing ended for me with the extended cut. It's a happy medium I can live with.

Nothing but speculation (ooh, sorry) about MENext. A few tease screenshots from Bioware that don't show much of anything. I wouldn't expect any news until at least 6 months from now.

However, note that Yanick Roy said that the new ME bears the same relation to the original trilogy that a WW2 story would bear to a story about WW1. I have no idea how to reconcile this with what Walters said.

I hadn't seen that quote yet. Hmmm...

His quote implies a sequel, Walter's quote seems to suggest the opposite. Confusing... I guess I'm back to square one in not having any idea what the next game is going to be.

On the bright side at least I still get to hope the next game will be a sequel. Image IPB

Considering that almost everyone wants a sequel, it would just be flat out stupid to do anything else. That being said, I don't fancy a game that takes place hundreds of years in the future much either - the universe would be unrecognizable.

Ah, those two quotes are a little contrasting indeed. :P I still hope for a sequel, so I am happy with the WW1 WW2 comparison, although if you take the quote quite literally, WW2 was much bigger in scale, but what could possibly be bigger than a reaper invasion which threatens to destroy the entire galaxy?... :P

One thing to consider with those two quotes is they are from two different people with different views, so they might mean the same thing just using a different perspective to try and describe the game the best they can.

End of line.
