How do you think your favorite two squadmates would have felt in the Decision Chamber...???

Hey guys, had a thought after finally finishing up the Citadel DLC. It does such a great job of rekindling and reminding us of why we loved our squadmates so much, and for some hated them as well. But what it brought to my attention, was what would my two favorite squadmates felt about the Catalyst and it's choices? I mean, we can't say all would have been Destroy because of the war to stop the Reapers was the main objective. Based on the lore and decisions made through the entire series, which characters would have favored Destroy? Which ones would have favored Control? Synthesis? I'd love to hear what you guys think!

I think I can already get an idea from ME2's Collector base dialogue. The Crucible is a loose extension of that. Jack and Legion would advocate Destroy and Control, respectively. Kind of a no brainer in those cases though. I like Mordin about as much as those two, but he's the wildcard. I don't know what he'd pick. Depends on the time of day.

I kind of like to think that Mordin would advocate for Synthesis, mainly due to his background of science. Then again, how he finally came to terms that genetic modification of the Krogan was wrong, I can see him backing off that one. For Garrus and Wrex, i'd like to say Control and Destroy respectively. Mainly due to Garrus' commentary about 'cold hard dictators" who can make those important life changing decision. Wrex, well obviously... ;)

Whatever the writers wanted them to advocate.

 1.) Jack: Destroy.
2.) Mordin: Sync.

I know the argument for Mordin being against Green because of "stagnation"-nonsense, I just don't agree he'd see it that way.

The dialogue in the decision chamber would be asinine, considering there were no Geth left in the world, since one would advocate for either control or synthesis based on synthetics, and the other would advocate for destroy.

Mordin kind of contradicts himself. One minute, he talks about evolution being driven by limitations (which would be better served in Destroy) - but the next minute, he could be opportunistic. Something like Synthesis might appeal to him since it gets rid of a ton of variables in one fell swoop. And variables drive him mad.

I've seen forum posts of what companions would have decided (and there is a pretty good video out there of companions discussing their feelings on the Geth rewrite decision from ME2 which mirrors part of the Decision Chamber choice), but I've always wondered, if all the companions were in the chamber, would the result be something similar to the end of NWN2? Would the team fracture, and would a fight ensue?

Yeah I kind of figured there was a forum out there already with this topic. Just that most recent post have been about what was right for us, I rarely see many topics of what would have been right for those who followed us. Hell even Anderson speaks Destroy until he perishes. Had he lived long enough to hear the Catalyst out maybe that could have changed his mind too? Would you happen to have links to those vids? I'd love to seem em...

The way I had it set up, pretty much everyone except EDI, nah probably EDI too, would have picked Destroy.

Javik blowing the Reapers to hell. I think that's an understatement. His hatred for them surpassed blowing them to hell, maybe through hell??? :D

Liara & Garrus - Destroy

I think most of the squadmates would be Destroyers however, with the exception of EDI, Legion and Morinth. It would be like the Collector Base decision, where with the exception of one or two squadmates everyone favored Destroy.

My two favorites were probably EDI and Legion. While I actually agree that they would each be willing to sacrifice themselves, I think their concerns for AI rights in general would preclude picking Destroy.

Legion would be conflicted between Control and Synthesis. In the end, I think he'd go with a sort of very restrained Paragon Control - he wouldn't put many constraints on the Reapers other than not allowing them to attack or harvest anybody again. Imposing Synthesis on everyone might feel a little too much like the "shortcut" to unity that the heretics tried ot take by allying with the Reapers. On the other hand, having seen what it was like when all the geth were placed under Reaper control in the Rannoch arc, he'd be careful not to be too heavy-handed about it.

EDI, I think, would be more inclined towards Synthesis, given her origins first as a combat VI and then as a Cerberus-shackled AI. Once she learned that the Reapers had been under the Catalyst's control all along (and thus might not be hostile if left to themselves), she'd be very reluctant to try to control them herself.

I'm not sure it would be that uniform. To give a few exaples, I would see Kaidan and Tali as potential non-Destroyers if you've negotiated geth/quarian peace - Kaidan for his generally non-ruthless nature, and Tali after hearing of the way the geth are helping to speed up the readjustment of the quarians' immune systems. (Not saying she'd do it just for the quarians, rather that it would make her more receptive to the general idea of a future shared with formerly hostile AIs.) Samara might well go with Refuse if she didn't think any of the RGB endings were compatible with the justicar code.

I know people often think Liara would be for Control because she seized control of the Shadow Broker's network, but that is night and day from opting to become some sort of A.I. abomination and god-king (or queen) of the Reapers. The two aren't even remotely similar.

Also, Control would be out of character IMO.

Liara: Poor Rila... but I'm glad she set off that bomb, Shepard.

Shepard: You're not upset the monastery was destroyed?

Liara: No, not after what I saw. I don't care that they were Ardat-Yakshi. To be turned into such creatures? Nobody deserves that.

More practically, they'd probably all feel like I, and Shepard, did - why are these the only three choices? ;)

And EDI, Legion, and Tali would probably be inclined to have a go at reprogramming the Crucible, at least as long as Garrus calibrates it first.

LOL I'm just having this mental image of Grunt doing what Solidus Snake did to the Metal Gear Rays at the end of Sons of Liberty.
