I play on the 360. The chicks have no appealing hairstyles. >:l

Anyone have any ideas, tips, tricks, whatever the hell I can get? I need a piece of eye candy when I fight the Darkspawn.

I love my character's hairstyle...mostly because it's just like mine. I thought my hair was cute. >.<

Lol. I will admit some hairstyles are okay, but not compared to the modded PC ones. Damn. I wish they would just make an update to where we got new hairstyles.

I like a few of the in game hairstyles. And i suppose it's a question what what you find attractive. people differ in that area, and I've never made a character that I didn't find aesthetically pleasing in some way.

Yep. My biggest problem is with elven females (and males for that matter), because most of the hairstyles either cover their ears (why bother to make an elf if they don't look like one) or their ears clip through the hair (which I detest). That leaves you two choices - really, really short hair, or one of the hair pulled back options. Sadly, while these are okay, there just isn't enough variety. I want every character to look different.

Men with beards are similar - I can't stand the sunken cavities they have instead of cheeks. So it's clean-shaven or stubble for me.

However, I am on pc and have a couple mods with different hair/eyes/tatt. Still not enough variety, though, with the hair..

Agreed, the hairstyles leave something to be desired.. if you look at the female avatars on the board it's generally the same few hairstyles, as well. Only half of them really seem to get used. Would be nice to see a DLC with extra hairstyles and fancy dress up clothes. :S

Go for a plain hair style and focus on making a pretty face instead of vice versa. honestly though, you rarely see female pc's face. and all the body types are the same so you don't get a hot piece of ass to stare at. =/ just find a preset you sort of like, and tweak the make up a bit, or change her eye shape and cheeks.

Of course I see my female (and male) pcs faces. I use a 'helms off' mod. Before I got it, I just never wore a helm. And screw the stats.

I don't want to look at a metal suit with no face for 50-70 hours each - on 11 characters so far.

I think my Sarabi turned pretty cute, but your right. Most games seem to have this thing of NO long hair choices. Why?

Clipping issues. Particularly with heavy armor. I use a hair mod but I can't put the longer ones on my warrior because it looks awful with massive armor.

But if the gaming programmers built them to begin with, Like Champions of Norrath...that had some cute hair styles and armor to complement.

Long hair can clip through armour pieces. There doesn't seem to be any hair / cloth rigging on the character models, so long hair would look very bad during a lot of the animations. For example, something simple like looking up at Sten - the hair would push back into the body.

Shorter hairstyles are probably more appropriate for warrior types anyway?

I agree it is a shame that there's not more variety for those poor buggers on consoles. Perhaps you should have bought the PC version if you like customising things or playing Dragon Age Sims.

I'm totally hot. And so's my character :P

Seriously, though, if you've got long hair, you put it up if you're going to do anything with a helmet.  Works for bicycling, I imagine medieval combat is much the same, albeit without worrying about traffic so much.

I agree, I hate the hairstyles for the women. I've been known to spend over 20 minutes trying to get a character "look" I'm satisfied with. I'm on a PS3 and have the same issue.

I would try to focus on contrasting skin color, eyes and hair, that can give you some interesting and alluring looks. It does take fiddling with the character though.

I don't give a damn about the clipping, it doesn't really matter. I know that everyone here would rather suffer clipping than suffer extreme hideousness.

I'm definitely in the "I can deal with the clipping" camp when it comes to long hair. I used to use the CEP in NWN1 and dealt with it, even with the REALLY long hair a few of them had for female PCs. Honestly, when I'm in battle I have so many other things to worry about than where the hair is.

I think all of my characters are lovely and practical hairdos make sense under the circumstances. I do wish the hair moved a bit though...ponytails that bounce and such.

I either go for realistic hair ( pulled back and out of the way of my killing ways lol) or unrealistic and short and choppy via mod. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though, i love my elves with big ears, just because that is my preference for 75% of my elves ( though not all) and yet some people do NOT want big eared elven women :P

I do wish there was a long braid option for women though.
