... Yasumi Matsuno involved and Hitoshi Sakimoto on the score.

http://www.kickstart...f-the-guardians

I'm both excited and worried. Excited because the guy who talked in the video has Vagrant Story high in his personal chart, excited because I loved FFT, Tactics Ogre and like FFXII more than any FF. Vagrant Story was the 2000 Dark Souls to me.
Excited because Hitoshi Sakimoto is my favourite composer
Worried because I don't know Playdeck. It looks like they're doing both nice and silly games on iOS. Worried also because right now I don't know how Matsuno will be involved in the game, which prevents me to back it. I asked about the precise involvement of Matsuno on their Facebook page.

And just got an answer:

Yes, he is writing the story and the plot line (I've been lucky enough to see the design documents and they are amazing by the way!). And I like that term of "Co-Director" because that is basically what he will be. He will have his hands on everything involving game play and creatives and our CEO Joel Goodman will be the other co-director and will manage all of the smaller details and business side so Mr. Matsuno will be able to focus on what he does best; creating amazingly rich and immersive worlds.

We will be rolling out with more information as time goes on, and hopefully it will be enough to get you to hop on board and join our Kickstarter Adventure!

Well I was a big Matsuno fan until he melted down and left FFXII.Sad.
I don't know if they'll reach $600,000.

I would rather he had gone back to SquareEnix, beeen rehired and done another Ogre Battle.
Of course that would have depended on SE realizing they should rehire him.

They will reach the 600k goal, but I'm not sure they will go beyond to be honest.
Their campaign is not very informative and not very clear to begin with. Nobody should start a kickstarter campaign without some solid explanations about the gameplay mechanics, story, characters, people involved in the development of the game etc.

When I saw the project I immediatly wanted to back the project with more money. After doing my research, I gave 20$ and I won't give more unless they give us more. It's not like Obsidian, inXile or Revolution Software -- it's Playdek; I don't know them.
