Mike mentioned that the inquisition isnt big enough to conquer but definitely big enough to make a difference, its like a police force except with much more jurisdiction and answers to no one

Yet we can only go on missions with 8 or 9 specific people who constantly question our decisions and can potentially leave or try to kill us, after which we can't use anybody in this huge army to replace them...   I have to say I'm not really understanding the point of this...  I know it's something I'll just have to ignore, but really, I do not see why we can't use these soldiers for missions if we don't want to deal with mouthy, insubordinate companions.

Edit:  To actually address the OP, however, it might be like Suikoden, where you actually had large battles involving different armies in addition to mission with six of approximately 108 potential followers (don't remember the actual number)...   In these battles, your followers were either squad leaders or had some role in each squad that altered that unit's fighting style, powers, or whatever... but I have no idea, really, and actually doubt the army will be used except as scenery.

We dont know the extent of how much we'll be able to use our troops, we will be doing sieges with them and defending from forces with them by our side, but past that we'll have to wait and find out how in depth we can go with it. Plus its not something thats going to bother me because if we were just able to use our soldiers to do everything it would ruin the game entirely so i dont see a reason to complain when you know what dragon age is about

I'm not really complaining, just saying that I can't envision what role the army will play. Seems kind of unnecessary the more I think about it, unless the devs do something unexpected.

ITT: Someone playing the wrong genre.

Basic soldiers (Agents) are used as a resource to execute actions on the game world, such as the capping of sulfur vents in the demo.

That's cute.  Got anything relevant to add?

Actually had the rest of my post finished before you're amazingly original and shockingly witty retort. Type faster next time.

Also, how can you judge characters before playing them? I'm sure some will question the player's actions, perhaps even rebel, but to condemn the lot of treason a year before the game is out?

Like i said, theyre essential in sieges both defending and attacking, use of agents, probably have unique moments with them in terms of dialogue and special unique events and of course the story, its a major part of the story so despite you not seeing them as a neccessity in gameplay, the story demands their presence. Likeike i said, theres more that hasnt been announced yet and you never know if they decide to add depth to them since the game 9 months away:wizard:

@Delflagratio - I raised a legitimate concern and I'm not interested in somebody who's just trying to troll me. I'm not answering any question from you.

Well, I think everyone's already answered the concerns at hand anyway. The only issue that remains is the ability to tag-in basic Inquisition grunts, am I right?

Technically I think the engine and game could allow it... Assuming the NPCS operate off the same system as the PC's party. (Basic mechanics and all that) Wasn't there a moment in Origins when you had just some basic dingbats on your team, like at the siege of Ostagar? I haven't played in ages.

Yup right in the beginning, i wouldnt doubt if there are moments like that where you need a temporary party memeber. Also hoping for another epic battle cutscene that i wont doubt will be in Inquisition
