I love the CSR on my Salarian Infiltrator. Energy Drain sets up small groups of mooks nicely for quick CSR headshots to finish them off.
On the DAI, I do love the Black Widow, now that I have it levelled up a bit (used to use the Widow on him, which I loved, too.)
I tend to play the Assassin for pure sniping fun, though. I barely ever even detonate Recon Mine. I just leave it up there until the team has killed everything. Sometimes I'll set it off to finish off the last few mooks, but usually, I just fire away with my SR (which is pretty much always the BW these days.)

Even on a GI it's bad.. I mean like, awful bad. Even the Hornet is better.. and I was just doing both those challenges last night for Outsider Mastery. So much effort for so little return.
20 headshots by wave 3 babby... Thanks to Barrage upgrade and the stabilization mod on the weapon. Zero kick and a pretty tight spread.. headshotting at medium range was no problem. Much MUCH better than the Raptor.

I definitely consider the Raptor to be in the wrong category as an Uncommon SR. It should switch places with the Mantis, as it is probably one of the 3 least effective guns in the game.
I wish I had advice on what kit could make good use of it, but other than picking a weapons platform, and loading up on passives, I can't think of anything.
The DI is a pretty good kit to use the Raptor on, I found it to be very effective on him even on Platinum.
just stack piercing mods and use Incendiary ammo.
he has natural high weapon damage passives and a universal debuff from recon mine, which can be detonated for a stagger in a wide radius.
I use a Hurricane sidearm since scoping in on a Banshee right in front of me can be annoying. Guerilla upgrade is the most ideal gear for him to use.

The Indra is dominant on him.. and light enough to carry a proper sidearm for Phantoms.

The Valiant is a better bet in most situations or even better the Incisor, although it's best used on a character with inate stability such as a TGI. Thats how I run mine. Very good against Geth. I'll admit not as good as the BW but a fun alternative if you want a light SR so you can max powers. Aim for the chest to get head shots.

GPSMG too? I also did not like it much.
I really enjoy using the GPSMG with the GE, tons of fun...

I'll usually run Cyclonics in the armor slot.
The Indra is also Spectaular on this kit, just replace SMG with Sniper Amp and Operative Package in the Gear slot.
Another setup for the GPSMG is the Destroyer specced for accuracy and RoF with Ext Mag/Heat Sink/AP rounds. Also a lot of fun.
Edit: The destroyer setup works best if you spec into Hydra missiles, and bring something like the scorpion/venom as a Phantom-dispatcher.
Why Expert package? With even SMG package you get 200% recharge. Indra is great on everyone unlike BW, but unfortunately I already completed the challenge.
LOL:lol:
You're right, force of habit I guess...... always 12+12 over 15 additive.

Confession. There is so much GI praise here that he scares me. I was pretty pathetic when I started playing ME multiplayer. It was my first ever online gaming try. So when I started, I used to press Shift to bring up the power wheel. LOL. After 1200 hours I am much better and can Pug Gold with most classes. My points and N7 ranking would mean people expect me to top score with huge margin if I play GI. And I am not sure I can. Same goes with other popular kits such as TGI and AIU or Kronguard. Silver bores me. And not willing to solo after i got that lone wolf.stealth_202 wrote...
GI or DI are best for weapon challenges.
It's not hard to topscore with Raptor on Gold.
If you don't like Infiltrators, try TSol or Destroyer.
Oh I do. My absolute fav are Huntress (for farming platinum along with Collector adept), QFI and Shadow. Also Drell Assassin. Any suggestions on them? Soldiers are actually my least fav.
For weapon challenges or general builds? If builds, I'll give my two cents even if my credibility is jeopardized....

This is one of my strongest kits, but I don't use him that much anymore as he turns the game into extreme easy mode.
Hurrican and/or Harrier, Raider, Wraith, Talon, or anything with high Rof or burst damage.
SR setups are good as well, but rushing spawns to wreak havoc is just too much fun.

For gold i would recommend Damage and Ammo V, Sniper Amp 3 and Incendiary/AP or Warp 3 or 4. Should work just fine then IMHO.

The Raptor is a decent enough weapon for its rarity, essentially the semi auto version of the Indra, with 700ish DPS, decent accuracy, light weight, low hipfire penalty and a very nice low magnification scope. Seriously I love that scope. A damage buff of around 10-20% would have made it perfect, but oh well. Note that ROF increases aren't useful for the Raptor, as it has a Minimum Refire Time. I'd recommend using it on the QFI or SI for the hefty TC damage boost along with ED/Backfire damage.
As for the Incisor, I reckon the Turian Sentinel is the best user of the gun with his stability/damage passives, Overload shield stripping and Warp to weaken Armor. Turian Havoc with his Cryo debuff might work well. And of course the sniper Infiltrators.

People dislike the Raptor because they can't (or just really don't want to) click at 400RPM or because they're slaves to the OP 1000+ DPS weapons. It's not even close to the worst weapon in the game. It's somewhere around the halfway mark, still better than much of the non-UR pistols, SMGs and ARs.

Edit: A bit more on topic. I consider the Raptor good against mook-level enemies, and not quite as useful against bosses.

If you can manage to keep up the RoF around 350-400 RPM and pull of repeated headshots it can take out infantry with little difficulty.

I've tried the Raptor and completed the challenge twice with it. I don't consider it the worst sniper rifle, since the Incisor is definitely that. The recoil is utterly annoying. The Indra's recoil w/o stability module is actually still useable while with the Incisor I need to use the stability III module to have a chance of controlling the thing.
Any Turian kit with full passive and Stability Mod III eliminates recoil for every weapon in game. Unfortunately, it's bugged off-host.
