I've been through both ME1 and 2 now and long time ago. Waited to take ME until prices dropped and better pc.

I love the game for the storyline, both personal wise and sci-fife/pocket philofical wise :)

So i played imported ME2 paragon Sheppard that qualify fully to save krogans and salarians as well as broking a peace between the Geths and Quarians. Took free DLC and then also leviathan (very cool lore) and Javik (so cool dialoque and listening to him teaching Liara/asarians about their failures are awesome.

Ok got to Thessia. Now: i can accept a scripted defeat but this one beats the worst i've ever seen. I was surprised how much i care about it but i admit that i am very very disappointed on the Thessia mission end: what on Earth did BW tink about doing like that !? It would be so easy to make this part better. I've beated cerberus hard and easy everytime i meet them and toying with kai leng. BW should have scripted a victory for the reapers and then perhaps let Cerberus have a "cheap" victory due to Sheppard being occupied fighting/escaping reapers.

I was in persue of a paragon best opltion endings. As i do not have dlc citadel and omega (both these dlc's seems out of touch with the scifi-storyline) i am too low on EMS to achieve this. Took most of the planetscanning but cannot get it up to qualifying level anyway.

Just my dice on ME3. Any advice ot recommendation be very welcome. So far i'll ditch the game and revert focus to my MMO adiction which is Lotro :)

You downloaded Extended Cut, right? If you did this makes the EMS requirements for the ending half of what they were originally, more or less.

Without Citadel or Leviathan you should still be able to get "the best" ending with the war assets available, so it sounds like you might have missed a few. Do you play MP at all, and do you have any promotions there?

I put together this pdf showing all the stuff you can scan from planets, since other sources started to disappear or were formatted annoyingly.  Galaxy Map Guide.  This is for all DLC that has systems, but Citadel and Omega don't actually add any, IIRC.

If you don't want to play MP there is a way to gain Galactic Readiness.  You can also go to the N7 HQ page that has your MP profile, but then click at the top at Galaxy At War.  You can deploy some forces and get a boost, although you have to grind it a bit to make a lot of progress.

Thx for replying.

This is how i stand b4 horizon santuary act:
a. my tms/ems is 6895/3447 (50% readyness since no mp doings).
b. I did hand over the reaper brain/base when ending ME2 - even though i did paragon sheppard. So that should add 110 to my ems afaik.
c. extended cut are installed.
s. I am very close to full paragon but its not on 100. a few renegade point and planning to renegade interupt for Kai leng's ending.

Do that leave all options open for me without need of doing MP ?

It turns out the Collector Base choice does not end up making a differences since the game uses your EMS when you choose to assault Cronos Station (aka Cerberus HQ) instead of right when you attack Earth, meaning that the Reaper Heart or Reaper Brain don't actually count for War Assets.

With Extended Cut, all of the endings should be available with 3100 EMS before going to Cronos Station. Getting the "best" destroy ending with that EMS requires preventing TIM from executing Anderson though, if you don't prevent him from doing that you will need more EMS to get "the best ending." To prevent TIM from doing that, you need a high enough reputation (I don't know the number), and you had to use Charm or Intimidate in all previous conversations with TIM (so on Mars, Thessia, and Cronos).

With the change to EMS requirements with Extended Cut, you should not have to play any MP. That was one of the things people were most upset about at release: it was impossible to unlock some endings without playing MP despite the dev promise (unless you had the iOS game, which is now on the N7HQ Galaxy At War page).

Thx vm Capn233. I thk u got me going again. I did notice that when my paragon Sheppard spoke to TIM at Thessia - prior to the Kei fight - i did notice that i had him ...welll... almost crying...and clearly - for a short moment - strugling with his resolve :)

That MP requirement was clearly a mistake by BW like the Thessia ending. ME is overall still an awesome game in many aspects - in spite of some grave mistakes. Imo ofc :)

The collector base actually does matter.... If you get a low ems. Thing is, that is a lot harder than high ems, especially if you play dlc

So i went on after learning that my tms/ems are fine (post cerberus hq 7170/3585).

Did Cerberus hq last night. Javik as squadm8 beside EDI. Dark energy with blast er my favoryt combo and Javik my favorit squadm8.

Off topic: I'm not a very good player, but i had no problems all the way - except for the end fight beginning. Both the gamehint and wiki "told" me starting with hitting "f"/melee button several times when kaileng starts out head on. That gave me Critical mission failure 3 times. Right. Very bad advices there.

I changed and started out simply side roll and since then Kai Leng never got a chance. the adds hardly took a step b4 biotic explosion wiped them far away dead.
My Sheppard is mainly a powerbuild sentinel so i should have realised b4 that starting out melee would be unwise. Just cant work out why any1 advice for starting out melee with kai leng: pretty much suicidal for my sheppard.

Are you kidding me? Shepard is better than Kai Leng. Stop dodging and mash that melee button. Don't let Leng punk you!

Thx for replying.

It could easely be me fumbling with the key's - but i couldnt get it work at all. And if my chars agilty is superior: then why not use it for ur benefit. I made a laugh of his hiphopping and cryouts that lead him nowhere. Dont thk he hit me at all.

If i at all get into melee fight i just stand there with an endles parry lock. tappimg F key did not help.

Be welcome to detail how its done or supposed to work properly.

Maybe F isn't the melee button on your key configuration. I don't know what else could be the problem.

Yeah I didn't even know he would lock in melee with you until I had done a couple runs of the game. I usually had party members hit him with Overload while I dodged and then shot at him and he would retreat. :)

I'm like you OP; I can never get the melee lock quite right, so I just run from him, kill his henchmen and then by that Garrus and EDI have usually reduced him to a smoking wreck.

Bold for important addendum.

Never had that problem. Most of the time I let TIM shoot Anderson and stil get the best ending. I once had my ems at 3122. TIM shot Anderson and I got the breath scene.
