I still get kick votes from some not so bright players as soon as I get into lobbies before they see my CPs or loadout.

Maybe overall challenges may reflect time in the game, they can accrue just by playing if not pursued.

I must be a very good player on PS3 and terrible on other platforms then.
The standards are lower there
N7 means nothing by itself but you can use it, loadout and CP to make a pretty good determination.

The only thing N7 tells you is that a player may be inexperienced, and that only applies if it's less than 120. Once it's reached that threshold, all bets are off.

Even less than 120 can be an experienced player .. pretty much any multiple of 20 up to 120 or every 30 after that just indicate someone who has stopped promoting. If they have an N7 of, say, 100, that just means there is 1 class they have never used.
Levels from a class you have never used are not included in your N7 until the first time you select a character in that class
Hell, I have an alt account with an N7 of 20, because I only play 1 class on it.
In my recent experience, the only match I was kicked from was as a N7 of 1 in bronze. A fun fact there, between the other 3 players there were 2 harriers, a paladin and a black widow ... in bronze lol

There's one guy I used to know know who has like 700 hours and is an N7 20 because the scrub only plays infiltrators. He sucks too.
I don't think that's possible. Sooner or later he would have got a character card from another class and would have recieve XP points to that class.

You have to deploy the character to get that XP to translate into N7.

So, what sorts of expectations do y'all have for non-Bronze players? (and not as in "well, they're useless but I'll carry if I have to", but as in "it'd be nice and not in fact unreasonable")
I'm saying "non-Bronze" instead of, say, Platinum, because even Silver gets ugly when for some reason your teammates decide to completely ignore mission objectives and teamwork. It's a bad sign when you have two teammates go down in opposite corners of the map within seconds of each other, in the first couple minutes of Wave 3.
MP lobbies strike me as odd. I've quite a few players with Cerberus Harriers or other well-regarded URs, many many thousands of challenge points and 20+ promotions per class in Bronze lobbies, and they generally actually seem to be playing seriously and not spending all their time hatesurfing, Volus Vanguard + Batarian Gauntlet charge+crotch-punching-of-doom, Scorpion + Throw, or anything else that they could easily get away with on Bronze and might be funny.
Then there are players with pretty low experience judging by few challenge points, no promotions, low-level characters, who win a Bronze match and then try setting it to Silver immediately... and have a decently high chance of rage-quitting.
I'll stick around if a host decides to risk Silver and prospects look non-terrible, but would run the heck from anything higher. Been relying too much on Ballistic Blades + Inferno Grenades, which is probably great for learning bad habits (i.e. playing very aggressively to blast spawns at pretty close range, not working enough on weapon aim because those abilities are extremely forgiving, not learning rolls etc because Bats don't have them); probably should force myself to run Asari Adept or Huntress for a while.
Thoughts, guidelines?
If someone helps during the objective waves and will at least occasionally use medigels then they're alright in my eyes. Also, I use the Batarian soldier with the Venom which makes the kit even more forgiving when you're stupidly aggressive - but it's fun, that's the most important thing and that's how you should decide what kit to use and how to play.
OT: I still see new and inexperienced players pretty frequently but the playerbase does seem to be divided between these newer players (with commons/uncommons or level 1 rares) and very experienced players (with high level ultra-rares). Not a lot inbetween.

Totally agree. I love to play with unexperienced, poor balanced or even bad players if they want to win the game. All that people that bleed in an objective wave when they haven't used a single medigel... well, they get to my nerves. At least try dude!!

I can see myself playing a few silver games to warm back up and get a desent amount of good weapons (Vindictor rules in for a common weapon ). I am going to miss my level ten M-99 Saber(best gun in the game) . I can't wait to jump back in to ME3's multiplayer. I hope the PS3 population still has some good gold players to playing.I miss playing as the N7 Fury.

Wait a minute...is it some guy called Ssk Heath? For someone who has played the game for hundreds of hours, I found it really strange that he has never used any other class apart from infiltrators.

Ran into a N7 117 Ghost with a Krysae and an Arc Pistol that seemed to be specced out of cloak. He also liked to reload his weapon after every shot, even if he didn't kill the target, which struck me as odd. This probably explains why his score was around 40k.
That's nothing compared to an AIU I saw once. The guy was using only a scorpion and spamming snap freeze out of cloak, only used cloak on very rare occasions like for devices. Weirdest thing I've seen in this game for sure.
