It's basically an SMG with an autofire macro. Super-duper fast. And tied for the lightest weapon in the game.

The Mantis is kind of a poor man's Widow. Works fine on gold.

Mantis works rather well on the Geth Engineer. You don't even need headshots. Just Overload and shoot wherever.

Unequipped GI with Avenger is not bad. In fact, I can't see any differences between it and Phaeston on him.

35 minutes on GOLD?  Oh hells no.

Where do you get 35 minutes? The whole video is under 34 including loading screens, the actual game was 32:37, and we also didn't rocket. Please watch before you critisize. And it was fun and possible, which I believe was the point.

But generally only with people I know don't suck

I prefer the avenger.  Having soloed gold with every common weapon except the shuriken, I find it my personal favorite.  That followed by the katana then mantis.  Just my own preference though.

I'm going to be boring and say that surely any common weapon can be used on gold successful by using an appropriate character with bonuses for that weapon and high level equipment.

Mantis on an Infiltrator Vs Geth or Cerberus on Gold is OP.

But I prefer the Katana. Because having style is what matters.

I use Avenger'n'Katana on Krogan soldier on Gold sometimes, works good.

My new fun is to use common weapons. And they can be pretty effective, we just forgot them because harrier and other black card weapons.
