 Im hoping to see The Summer Sword come back, even though i doubt it, id love to see it. The story behind its creation and how the sword was put into Ser Cauthrien's hands is pretty interesting.

What weapons would you like to see return?

None of the weapons in Dragon Age really stood out to me. Most were kind of plain, clunky, or a simple recolor of an existing model. Plus, mages were shafted pretty hard with the amount of staff skins available, and the girth on just about all the bows (at least in Orgins, never used the bow in DA II as Varric filled that role with Bianca) was ridiculous.

But I really shouldn't post just to complain, and I actually really did like the models for Oathkeeper and the Qunari greatsword, so I suppose those are my answers. =p

Hand axes. Maces. Anything other than a sword.

[The Qun & the Damned]

Swords: Oathkeeper, Asala, Fadeshear, The Summer sword, and Dragonbrand.
Staves: Staff of Violation, Spellfury, Stone's Breath, and the Staff of the Blighted Heartwood. (I would have asked for the booby staff, but judging from the gameplay video, it's already in.)
Daggers: Heartbreaker and Backstabber, and Thane and Kathryn, because, let's face it, gorgeous AND iconic

Also, shields like Barn Arlange's, the asymmetrical symmetry of that shield is to die for.

Starfang, Vigilance, and Spellweaver were the first to jump to mind but I would love to stumble upon Maric's Dragonbone sword he found during "Stolen Throne"

Axes and Maces are already confirmed. If you watch the PAX/DIGIEXPO videos, you can see them in the Inventory while the driver of the demo is scrolling to the First Inquisitor's Flame greatsword.



Also, Legendary items will return according to the NA Podcasts... Obviously  no specifics were mentioned. Hopefully they'll not just be reskins though.

I don't think anyone will care about legendary items once they pull back the curtain on the crafting system... Assuming all the promise from the NA podcast survives to the final version. I assume many people here will be forging their own legends as opposed to using the existing ones.

Actually, nothing that resembles the DA2 greatswords. Whoever was the lead designer in charge of the DA2 weaponry - what were you thinking?

Just give back the DAO weapon styles again, (longswords for rogues!) and SOMETHING resembling a Dar'Missan and I'll be peachy. Maybe Dumat's Spine...

Oh! And melee staffs. If possible.

I loved the look of that staff. I hope it returns (even if it is only the design of the staff that retuns) 

Another staff with a design I'd like to see return is Architect's Legacy.

Haha same im hoping for weapons to be more realistic without being too plain or ridiculous. I hate the anime type weapons, it throws off the feel of the game almost completely for me

I like the plainess if that's a word...  until you get to the pommel, it looks way too small.  The Family Blade if you were a Cousland and the Topsider's Honor sword were my favorite looking swords.

Completely agree i hated how dull the blade seemed in cutscenes, the family sword is much more satisfing to the eyes in my opinion
