My girlfriend and I have been playing a BGT game for a while now, and have just scratched the surface of the second game. I'm wondering if it is safe for us to install more mods at this point.

I am specifically interested in installing BG Tweaks, and I would like to use the original Baldur's Gate weapon proficiency system but with the weapon style options that this mod can provide. Assuming it is safe to install the mod in the first place, how would this impact a pre-existing party? Will that happen automatically, or would I need to use Shadow Keeper to correct things? Do the amount of proficiencies remain the same, or do you get fewer choices?

I also would like to install something that modifies the visual look of things like stoneskin and possibly other spells. I know that I had something like this in a previous installation, but I cannot remember what it was.

If possible, I would also want to modify the spell icons a little bit. It would be handy to be able to see if blur is active, for example, and I would not mind removing an icon or two as well.

Finally, if it is safe to install BG Tweaks with our current game, I would like to know how some of the changes affect game balance. It seems to me that some of the desirable options, such as the corrected grand mastery tweak, make the game a little easier. If more of these are installed, I would imagine this could make the game too easy. What steps what I want to take to even that out? Does the tweak that maximizes monster hit points do that, or what I need to do more?

Thanks for your time.
