There are several types of companions i have seen in DA games.

The goody 2 shoes = leiliana

The dont give a **** unless its strictly againts what they belive in = sten and morrigan.

The do extrem stuff  for their cause = Anders.

The survialist = Isabela.

And the wtf = merral

Those are just a few.

personaly I always play do anyhting to gain power type. Which is why sten and morrigan are my favs.
But there were times when i really did try to give leiliana a chance But it always ened with me just wanting to throw her of the highest clif in thedas. I wish she was like the leliana in the sacred ashes trailer. But anyway just please bioware can we have a balence. i dont mean dont give characters with complicated personalitys. But At leats give us the Otion of more renagade characters.

If your generalizations are broad enough, then you can attach whatever label to a character you like.

Tans aren't permanent, just FYI. Ask me how I know.

Wait, Leliana was a goody-two-shoes? I guess all that whoring and murdering was just tickle fights and pillow parties?

C'mon. Leliana's personality kind of defied her background a little. Probably because there was a whole character metamorphosis/getting saved thing we didn't get to see.

Merril was an outcast, a renegade if you will, because she consulted with demons and used blood magic. Anders was a renegade apostate and pro-mage agitator. I think the fact that you liked some of them and strongly disliked others is a testament to the skill of the writers in creating well-fleshed out characters. I loved the idea of Morrigan but couldn't stand her selfish, survival-of-the-fittest personality. So I rarely included her in my party. Fenris has a voice you could spread on toast, but his vehement anti-mage stance always got on my nerves.

You could easily switch those labels around. Merrill was a Goody Two-Shoes and Leliana was the "WTF" (as you put it) because she had a weird sense of humour. Anders didn't give a crap about anything except if it was against something he believed. Morrigan was the survivalist.

Your categories are just really broad. Sure, there are certain archetypes that pop up in most Bioware games, but that's just indicative of the trends that appear in fiction. There's a whole wiki (TV Tropes) detailed to cataloguing archetypes in fiction.

I just hope that the healer they give us this time will be tolerable. I did not like Wynne or Anders. On harder difficulties, it kind of forced me to ether take up that role (not something I like to do) Or tolerate them.

It's like your whole character analyse is based off one aspect of each character, when they all have developed from different experiences, regardless of if they fit certain "stereotypes" - their experiences are what define them and how they choose to express it, but not just in one moment.

Though, I know this is a trololol thread basing off my trololol experiences.

The party will consist of whatever Gaider wants it to be.
It's probably too late to ask for any major changes in the party members/constitution.

You know, I can't think of one bad thing to say about Wynne, and yet, like you, I just didn't care for her.  Anders I liked, but of course I was romancing him.  So I was probably just blinded by love.

I just want the merril/leliana type character so it can make a relationship with a massive qunari even more of a strange thing to see.

I kind of see what you mean, but I don't agree.

For starters, you can "harden" Leliana and recover some of the fire she once had in her Orlesian life, and there were many instances where the murderous little tart she was back then can make an appearance. A better term I'd say, is she's not defying her background, she's repressing and burying it, maybe even denying it, but it does come back occasionally. If there weren't those few moments where she can be absolutely vicious and manipulative, I would agree with you.

Honestly, even though I find her insufferable at times, Leliana is one of my favorite Bioware characters, certainly one of the more complicated ones.

This come play DAI in Vancouver invitation stuff means they want to get going on completing the game and ironing out the kinks imo.

Obviously because OP doesn't understand archetypes.

Dragon Age has done fine thus far, i'm not too worried about Inqui.
My only concern was returning companions.

Or information on what they should add and take out, why invite people to play if you dont plan on changing anything

Believe what ever you like.
Like I have said, if you want changes tweet Laidlaw and ask for them

I doubt there will be major ones unless they find problems and have to make changes to fix things. If people disagree that's fine.Ask Laidlaw if you want them to add something..
