Basically you are saying that if one wants to achieve the double tech burst (I mean the highest chance of double tech burst), he/she must spec arc for wider radius possible, and homing for the smallest possible, right?

I use a Venom on my Demolisher. It takes a little while to get it charged up, but when it goes off, it covers everything

Pretty much. Her arc nade radius is smaller than the Quarians anyways. The good thing is arc hit fast and are easy to throw accurately. Homing take a little longer to reach the target so thing have a little time to split. 

On topic though yes only one combo detonation per piece and those detonators cannot fall without the same AOE or you only get one combo detonation. Both are good options but for me damage was a little better.

I prefer armor damage on rank 6 for HG on her as she is pretty well set for shield damage and AoE CC as is by arc nades ( 2 benefits of TB ), this way you get more armor damage which is useful on higher difficulties

This used to be my favourite character and I would like to point out that the final tier of N7 Demolisher 'power damge +20%' does jack **** except an in menu increase to +65%.

Lulz or we've destroyed the game in every conceivable way and like to have fun with weird ass builds. 

As good as her nades are you need weapons to make her work on Plat or you'll get your ass handed to you.

Lolno... Saying the Demolisher doesn't need a decent weapon is just stupid. Saying the melee build is bad is also dumb as it hits 3 enemies, has multipliers against defenses, is pretty fast and does brutal damage.

You're entitled to your opinion, and it sounds like you're pretty sour on the Demogirl.

help me understand this. Why would the radius damage from HGs  overwrite the tech burst-primed enemy?

Mathematically, that literally gives you fewer grenades than forcing your cooldown to match the recharge speed of pylon (2 every 9 seconds or 4 every 17.14 seconds). I can see but not explain why the 9 second recharge might be good for some players, though. However, she needs a powerful gun on gold and above (Even later waves on silver will challenge a weak gunned demo). There's plenty of light and heavy varieties available that work well with her. Harrier, Venom, Adas, Arc Pistol, HurrDurrcane, Acolyte, Raider, Claymore, GPS, CSMG all work very well and I would assume many others do, as well.

By this logic, it's like saying Volus are support characters pure and simple.

Just throwing this out there.. after playing the melee Demogirl a bunch the last few days (thanks to this thread) I can comfortably say the following:

With the following gear: Shotgun Omni-Blade and Strength Enhancer.. you can:

OSK a full shields Nemesis (when rank 5 melee boost is on)
Take out 1/4 of a Gold Prime's armor in one punch
Light melee a Dragoon to death in one combo
Knock Possessed Abominations across the room before they detonate (great for aiming them at other players)
Kill a Gold Phantom, Bomber, Possessed Trooper, etc. after one Arc Grenade Pyros require the light melee combo to finish them, or a little gun fire.
Rack up double melee kills like a bawss...

How will her meelee capabilities fare on platinum. Surely more headknowlledge is required

Just to add my 2 cents (though I'm sure you already know this) - if you use a chargeable weapon like the Venom, you can charge up the weapon and then melee.  The melee will simultaneously fire the Venom to stagger the enemies.

Assume you have two enemies primed by Arc Grenade.  You then fire a split HG.  If both enemies fall within the AOE of the first HG part, you will get a tech burst on only one enemy.  The second HG part then hit the second enemy.  As the second enemy had fallen within the first HG part's AOE, you will not get a tech burst from the second HG part.  It is similar to how Cluster Grenades work. 

Qualifier - This is theory and I have not tested to verify.

I will certainly try this. I've been looking to experiment with a more hands-on approach, and this sounds like something I can use to get up close & personal with the Demo.
