And while I'm on said topic, I hope BW will take some time, making sure the hands aren't creepy and dirty-looking in DAI, like they've been in...well...all of their games. Seriously not attractive.

The thing about video game sex is it's like the opposite of porn.

Well if it comes to that, in my case, yes.

Because I find porn in general to be squicky and I can't really get into the idea of sex I'm not participating in with people I have no feelings for, also knowing that these women, whether they agree or not, are being heavily exploited.

But hey, that's just me and it's OT-- my main point is that pixel nudity is pretty costly and, in my opinion, not worth the tradeoff when you consider that nothing about it is interactive or integral to the story, and the writers and animators could be doing something much more valuable for the game.

Let them instead polish up a few environments or flesh out some dialogue trees or perfect a branching storyline decision's consequences or work on new abilities or armors or weather patterns or seriouslyanythingbutnekkedbits because if I wanted that, I could find it seriously anywhere.

At the end of the day, it may be a great game -- be there are still going to be things each fan wished the team did differently. For my part, "moar sex and moar nudity" isn't going to be one of them.

Rather, I'll be thinking "they spent weeks making that underboob look just right when the whole time my helmet was clipping awkwardly against my armor." :/

Hands are insanely tough to do, almost as tough as cinematic collision work, though I think that's being solved somewhat by increased use of MoCap.

I like them if done well, "Done well" being the key.

Bioware really sounds like they want to treat romance more seriously in DAI so I am excited. They want the scenes t be a culmination of time spent and not a conclusion. I like that the scenes and the parts they play will be treated more adult like.

But honestly sex never felt like a prize in DA2. In fact their was still ton of romance content available after the scene.

I honestly like that they are taken inspiration from Me for future sex scenes. I dont want a porno but veiled nudity is ok. I mean personally the scenes in ME handled sex the best overall but I really liked Liaras scene in ME3. It made sense, did not have any out of place clothing, and never showed and real nudity thanks to camera view and character position. I mean we see a butt and a little side breast but nothing "bad" at all.

It's true, though.

And the writers have said there's going to be less of an emphasis on romances overall, so making the sex a bigger deal while the relationships aren't given more content seems like a turrible idea imo.

Since many games have a toggle for the amount of gore included in the violence (something DA:O had, if I remember right) why not add a toggle to replace sex scenes with "fade to black?"

It should theoretically resolve any discomfort or controversy, especially if it was designed to automatically switch off on accounts with parental controls activated.
