As the title says, it has been confirmed by Greg Zeschuk that Bioware will continue to explore the Mass Effect universe after the main trilogy ends. You can read the whole thing here: http://kotaku.com/54...u/full (Kotaku)

It looks as though Bioware wants to have two different IPs of their own; one fantastic (DA) and one sci-fi (ME); two different settings so that they can let go of other companies franchises such as Forgotten Realms or Star Wars.

That's great news, as the galaxy is so vast that there are different wars, conflicts, and things to happen. Imagine being a smuggler, or mercenary.

Good news, but hopefully they won't just rest on their laurels milking these two IP's (and TOR).

On the other hand, Bethesda is a two IP deveoper (one before FO3) and they make good games.

I think a spin-off where you play as a Quarian on his/her pilgrimage would be epic.

For so many years, I considered Valve to be my favourite game studio. Not any more.

Good. Mass effect is the best series in gaming history. I dunno how it will work after ME3 though considering all the choices you can make that will shape the galaxy. I cant see a import option for a different ME story (not Shepards) But i now Bioware wont let us down they never do.

There's plenty more stories to tell from the ME setting from before the current time period to after. It'll mainly be interesting what game genres they cover for me.

I don't think they are branching off from other companies like you stated. Think about it, they are not just going to ditch Star Wars after they release SWTOR. It is an MMO and will get tons of updates, supports, and expansions.

I am EXTREMELY happy they have 2 excellent IP's because that means we get great games. :)

I'm very happy to hear that. It's a setting worthy of many game types and visions.

Don't forget Jade Empire...That's one of their own IPs, too. Now, perhaps if they took what they learned with making DA and ME and apply that to a massive JE2, I bet we'd see quite a lovely game. That game had so much charm despite its flaws (morality system, I'm looking at you.)

I don't think we will ever see another JE honestly. Never really heard much about it, and I'm sure it's good but it's the only Bioware RPG I haven't played.

I don't want to ever see Shepard (or any of the characters) again though, after this trilogy I want to see new stories explored.

I hope they make a Mass Effect space sim. There hasn't been a decent space sim for years (other than maybe the X1-3 series).

I'm glad they're going to do more with the ME-verse. It has so many possibilities, and since it's in space, they can just set any future game somewhere far off, where the trilogy's events won't (directly) have much effect.

*crosses fingers for something Quarian homeworld-related*

I've heard about this. Only hope the franchise isn't turned into a pure shooter only to capitalize on more money. And Shepard's story ending at the end of 3 would suck.

I'd like to see some prequel games focusing on the Krogan Rebellions and the First Contact War.. These stories are ripe for some kind of RTS or FPS style games

Now that would be awesome. But I don't see BW doing anything not-RPG related.

And what about getting to play the story of David Anderson and Saren?

Jade Empire is IMO the best game that ever came out for the original Xbox.

My friend you just committed blasphemy...IMO you cannot use the words "Fantastic" and "Dragon Age" in the same sentence without ripping a hole in the space time continuom.  I'll admit, DA was a good game but there was NOTHING "fantastic" about it.  Perhaps, given the context of your post (and given someone else hasnt corrected it for you already) I assume you mean "Fantasy" and Sci-Fi, instead of "Fantastic" lol.

Haha, yeah, you're right, I mean't fantasy. I'm sorry, english is not  my first language and I tend to make mistakes like this.

This is something I was thinking about yesterday, oddly enough. I really would love to see the setting from a different point of view. Being part of the military is cool and all, but I want to be a civilian after ME3 :)

It'll be great if they make an expansion concerning other conflicts like First Contact War, as Fallout 3 did with Anchorage.

How about lets not make too much DLC for it seeing as how some of us dont want to invest in a HDD...Image IPB

But seroiusly though...They could do SO much better after the trilogy is over than mere "DLC"
