Is it possible to remove races from the character creation menu?

Hello, my teams goal is to remove all races but human from the character creation menu, but still have them in-game as npcs. Is there any way to do this without crashing the game? we are working on a huge project that requires this.    our channel of the game    http://www.youtube.c...?feature=watch

Yes, you just need to edit the races 2da files. Just off top of my head they are racialtypes.2da and subracialtypes.2da.

There is a PlayerRace column which is 1 for any races players can select. Just change them to 0 if you don't want players to select. The other races remain acessible to select in toolset for NPCs.

Remember to do this as an override or in a HAK, not to you original files!

Thank you very much, we really appreciate your help, I went though the .2da folder and found "racialtypes" and "racialsubtypes", when I opend each of them, I could see that there are a huge amount of numbers and catagorys. Do you perhaps know which rows to change?

In the racialtypes 2da, there is a column called PlayerRace. Set to 1 to allow players to be that race, set to 0 to not allow players to be that race. The same column name exists in the racialsubtypes.2da if you wanted to allow/deny specific subraces (for instance to add human subraces since you said it's human only players).

Hmm, troubling. I have made it into a hak pack placed it into hak, went into toolset and used the hak, and placed the .2da in my override, but when I start up my module, and continue to the character creation screen, all of the races are still there. It even allows me to create and play as them. Any fixes?

try these 2da's see if they work for you all but humans have been turned off for players


missed grey orks on original upload but has been fixed, and works fine for me when tested

Hahaha, thank you very much Kanis-Greataxe...well that does work! Although it does crash the game when you try and select them, I like it! Thank you, now is there anyway to remove the other races from the UI screen?

It doesnt crash for me and only shows humans on ui for me.

Make sur you dont have any other copies of these 2da's in youre haks or override

I guese I should be a little more clear, these should be the only racialtype 2da and racialsubtype 2das in any of youre haks or override

EDIT- Not sure if its my dlc, but theres an orc subrace there but the icon is missing. how would i go about removing that?

redownload using the above link you may have downloaded it before I removed it, noticed that it was still there after I posted it originally and fixed it

EDIT- May I ask one more thing of you, since you are so wise in the ways of .2da files, is tehre anyway to remove classes, save for fighter, archer, and mage. Also, editing the feats?
