Personally, I don't like Hale's voice, and I've played many games that she has voiced in. Jedi Academy, perhaps, just left a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to Hale's voice acting. Her VA in Jedi Academy was atrocious, in my opinion.
Actually, I thought the guy who did Rosh was atrocious. *shudder*

Gamers who can be confused should try get a brain because that would be really, really dumb.
Unfortunately, maybe the Marketing people need to cater to the lowest common denominator in terms of intelligence. <_<

Sir, you're going to get a coronary if you keep up like that. If it bothers you so much over what some of us try and post....then.just.IGNORE.it.
You almost sound personally insulted that some of us even 'dare' to make such requests. In my OP I even noted that Hale liked Meer and his work, so what's wrong?
Even though you seem almost spastic in your response, doesn't mean people are going to stop asking.
Deal with it.

From a purely practical standpoint, female gamers just aren't a big enough portion of the market to cater to them. That's all there really is to it. It's certainly not a good thing, but the truth is rarely pretty. Maybe if our society hadn't ostracized gaming at the industry's inception, and maybe if society didn't put pressure on women to NOT play games, things wouldn't be the way they are. EA is a business, and they didn't get where they are by taking the huge risk of attempting to change the marketplace.
Not necessarily, latest estimates put females at 40% of total gamers. That's quite a market to ignore.

People are just upset about the lack of FemmShep.
I think they decide to take it on Mark.
If Jennifer Hale herself praised Mark, why should we fans take it out on him?
Because people can have differing opinions?

Overlooked is an understatement. A hell of a lot of people didn't even know that FemShep was even an option.
Which is odd, considering Casey Hudson has said on numerous occasions where Shepard's story is OUR story, so Shepard is whoever we want her/him to be. So, there IS no canon Shepard...only a default dude.

*Looks from side to side expecting to get punched in the face*
All the trailers and artwork show a male shep and the launch trailer constantly referred to him as a he. I mean, kotor had cannon genders for their leads so why not mass effect?
Anyways, I like Hale, BUT she just seemed grumpy for all her lines in ME1.

To OP: Thank you for posting this. I'm a fan of Jennifer Hale's voice acting and I loved listening to the interview. I agree with her that it would be great to see a FemShep more. At all, actually, would be nice.
Cheers
You're very welcome! The only way Bioware/EA is going to know what we think is with posts like this.

I think it's safe to say that the "cannon Shepard" is a male.

I'd shoot Male Shepard out a cannon alright...
And Casey Hudson has stated there is no 'canon' Shepard...only Default.

As much as I like Hale, Sheperloo is the posterboy of ME and it would be stupid to change that for the final game.![]()
that would create confusion in future trailers or game cover.

Yeah but that's including wii, iphone, facebook etc... If you looked at the proportion of women playing ME I think you would find it to be a lot lower.

You're lumping Facebook with the XBox, PS3, etc.?
