I think he's just trolling for the laughs. I know there's a permeating streak of sexism within gaming culture (and human society as a whole, of course), but I can't imagine there's still a neanderthal alive today who thinks women are physically or mentally unable to learn how to hold a gun properly. Thus, lulz.

As well, try having an Xbox Live profile that is openly female and enjoy the sexually harassing messages. Go look up just about any gaming article on Jade Raymond, as well as read the comments. It's not a female-friendly hobby at all. And by "friendly" I don't mean being patronized and condescended to.
