Any chance of a male solo vocalist?

Plus, if there are vocals in the themes associated with male followers, it would be kinda nice if they were sung by men. Unlike DA2. That was kinda odd.

I can't really remember any notable and strong male vocals that would somehow fit with the medieval/epic heroic fantasy theme (but if someone has any tips, I'll gladly listen to it), apart from some metal/rock/folk bands or perhaps opera..
Unless you mean something like this? (It's 11:15 onwards, in case the timer is off or doesn't work)
Empty halls sing a hollow fall, Dust-‐strewn cobblestones lead them home
Ships now dreaming in their quiet ports, Raise your glass to the ones returning
Icy barrows and forgotten swords, Snow-‐capped mountains hold forgotten words
Deeds heroic and deeds unknown, Carved upon the empty throne
(followed by an epic flute encore)
BTW: Sorry for asking, but are you by any chance the same berelinde from the Baldur's Gate modding community?

Not a fan of this kind of music at all, but that song, I like.Very atmospheric and really different from anything, more like a soundtrack(also, fan of Steven Erikson's books here).Avalla'ch wrote...
Hmm, I really think it depends on the kind of music.

My point is that while many people tend to think of artists like Enya as having a medieval sound, but it really isn't. It's folk music. Excellent folk music, but as modern as bicycles. Also, there are many excellent male artists in that category who get little recognition for reasons that have nothing to do with their talent. Please consider my case in point, Owain Phyfe, link supplied below. He's unfortunately deceased, but he is not the only male vocalist worth considering.

Background mixed choir isn't quite the same thing.
Choirs are great though! Finally I see a chance on this board to post what is the wonder of Icelandic Folk Music. If Dragon Age was to draw inspiration from this to, say, the Anderfels or the Dwarves I'd be mighty pleased!

Of course! I adore that big, rich choral sound. And that link you posted is wonderful.Knight of Dane wrote...

But a girl likes a serenade every now and again, right? Soundtracks need big sound, sweeping orchestral pieces, and they need more intimate moments, too.

I could absolutely see that being sung 'round the campfire Leliana style, and it would be nice to get some more male vocals in DA.

YES!
As an aside, I think it would be cool to hear something choral if we get to visit an Imperial chantry. Polyphony + overtone or something along the lines of the plagal tones common in Byzantine chant would be a cool touch

Maybe something like Anuna (a choir group, but there are male (and female) solos).

A good male soloist would be a good idea but a skip feature for repeat playthroughs would be a good idea too.

I came here ready to mock a silly thread but I actually love medieval music
I prefer bass male voices and soprano female voices though. If people deviate from these archetypes they have to sound really good

it fits with the medievalish themes of dragon age, and that song was designed for a male, so it can be done. All the composer for dragon age 3 needs to do is top Monteverde, no pressure.

Are you prepared for a male soprano? Most awesome thing ever.
