She claims to love you, and yet leave you and lets you die if you don't do the (mysterious dark ritual) sexy time with her.
From where I come from, we don't call that love.
Good point she was using the Warden.

Indeed, because the Warden's fate is always in the player's hands. She doesn't "let" you die. You don't need her to survive unless you strike the final blow. And if you do, ain't nothing gonna save you without the ritual.
Too simplistic,my hate towards her character is more than justified.Indeed. As opposed to many, I *really* liked that aspect of hers. I recall when she walked away after DAO ended, I found that completely appropriate. Paradoxically, if she had stayed for the Warden, she wouldn't have been the person this Warden loved. Also the ending left hope for the future, even before Witch Hunt. I absolutely loved it.
What the necro, guys?
I's nothing compared to this one

this necro was super
May as well comment, since this was necro'd anyway. I think DA:I/T shows that Morrigan was aware of a plot to tear down the Veil, either in part or in whole, and her plan to capture the old god soul was similar to her mother's.
Flemeth wanted the soul in order to empower Mythal. I think that's almost 100% certain.
But Morrigan wanted it to preserve the ancient knowledge so that she could survive in the Veiless world. With her child commanding the knowledge and magic of the ancient times, they could live in the Crossroads world forever without facing any real danger from the nature of that existence itself nor from the others who would dwell within it.
The real question is, what will she do now that she lost the old god soul/never got it, and might be bound to Mythal? In any case, she has some of Flemeth's knowledge at least. Perhaps she'll put that to good use. Or Mythal will.

Agree on this she absorbed the lizard god and it's powers.
I do not agree about Morrigan know about Solas plan to remove the veil, she didn't know, maybe Felassan was the only one in Thedas.

I don't think she knew about Solas specifically, but I think she knew something about the Veil being removed somehow and the old magics coming back. She may have learned this from Flemeth, or through the grimoire. But in either case, Morrigan was aware of Mythal's teachings regarding eluvians and the Crossroads. She also mentions a time before the Veil when dragons ruled the skies. So she is aware of the kind of existence Solas is striving for, even if she isn't aware of the Dread Wolf's involvement.
And you're right that she didn't know about Solas. In the temple she shows that she didn't even know about Mythal's murder or the Dread Wolf's actual actions.
Also, Flemeth drops a hint even to Hawke about the "inevitable plummet into the abyss" and the "precipice of change". So I'm sure she told Morrigan more, and I'm sure Morrigan picked up on more of it than Hawke could.
Good point she was using the Warden.
Thoughts?
Whatever the PC or any character thinks of her, in her heart she feels that what she is doing is not only necessary, but also justified. And by reasons that are far more complex than anyone can undestand, for they involve old magic and mysteries that predate civilization.
Morrigan, the Martyr and the Betrayer. The Witch of the Wilds. The Mother and the Inheritor. Many names, but none quite define her.
On the surface she seems like a nice character BUT everything she does is either for her own needs or wants... period.
Wait a minute: you've noticed that Just Now!?
Morrigan has been a Me-Firster since the very beginning: it's her schtick: she's looking for herself first, doesn't hide it, and try to convince the people she interacts with that doing her bidding also serves their interest.
Morrigan for me is a honest person, she don't pretend to be something she's not to please anyone, she don't act good to buy people trust, she don't care what you think of her but what she care care is you understand her view. She don't lie in a sense to make her appear to be good, unlike most characters you meet. She never lie i believe, i never see her lying, but other characters lie a lot. She may be not reveal things to you because you are not ready for such revelation. She by her own character is true to herself and true to you, it just you can accept her view or not, that's all. She maybe wrong, she maybe right, but she give it all to you, you like it or not, but she never lie to you.
Compare with Leliana, she is an outright liar, her appearance in Kirkwal after it burned out and in Orlais during Inquisition just prove how a big liar she is. If want to point out who is the biggest liar in Thedas it is Leliana.

Well... that's what Leliana's job requires her to be.
Yes, but she's going too far to a point where she become a psycho, her mask become her...at first apperance, you might think she's a preachy cleric, you think you may make her as a walking book to refer anything about Andrasterian religion, but she's wise to cover it up by saying she don't take the vow to become a sister, by means whatever she say about religion cannot be counted on seriously, it is a blanket cover to make you lower your guard, if you are a devout Andrastrian or know about Andrasterian religion, you can outright tell she's bullshitting you about religion and she's freely create her own version to put magic sand into your eyes, she like her new identity she created and later she become her alter ego....but she got busted by the Temple Guardian.

She knew where the Hero was the whole time. She knew he didn't just disappear.

Because she was with the HOF, living in the crossroads and raising their son together. When she found a lead on curing the Calling, but was too dangerous to follow with Kieran she stayed behind
