@eluvianix: I'm just curious - and won't refute - but who else would you suggest I respect as a mage? Quentin? Orsino? Zathrian - Jowan - Morrigan - Uldred - Niall - Merrill? The Architect? Avernus?

I don't think you have to respect anyone. Respecting someone is subjective. I wouldn't want to tell you that you are required to respect anyone. In all honesty, I don't really "respect" many people in Dragon Age, much less mages. I respect Isabela, because she doesn't really give two sh*ts how people treat her, which is an extremely admirable trait in my eyes. I respect Aveline, I respect Wynne, and I probably respect Meredith, even though I didn't like her. The thing is, I like and love many, many people in Dragon Age, but I don't think you really have to, and I don't, necessarily respect them.

If you noticed, when I quoted you, I highlighted Alistair's name, because he's my bro.

I won't kill her if it's possible. She's my Warden's love/baby mama! She'll be motherly and she is a fantastic character. I respect others' opionion to want to kill her in DA:O but what if what if she's changed?

We don't know if she'll be motherly, since the OGB might not be present in DAI.

OGB Might be in the playthroughs of players who did the DR or select it in some kind of keep selection process.B)

Yes, it's a possibility, but it's not sure.

I agree with this statement.

It sort of reminds me of a conversation you and I had awhile back when we were talking about Alistair. I think I  mentioned that I really, REALLY like Alistair, but I couldn't bring myself to respect him mainly because of his little temper tantrum if he doesn't get his way at the end of Origins, and how he quits the Wardens of Loghain joins, and tries to become King JUST so he can get Loghain executed.

Liking someone and respecting them are different things. I like Alistiar, but I don't respect him.

I thought it was stated that the OGB would mostly get a reference if players chose it

I agree with eluvianix and dragonflight. On the topic of Morrigan, I really like her, but I woudn't necessary trust her.

She can be the enemy or the friend, depends how you see her and treat her, your choices will matter such as in the dlc witch hunt *SPOILERS* where you can either let her go, go with her or stab her. I am sure those choices will have consequences on her opinion on you.

she is in service of a queen, I seriously doubt she can be a **** 100% of the time and expect to keep her head on her shoulders.

With the warden, she was able to be open and frank, cause she didn't need to put on a mask.

I mean don't tell me if you go meet the queen of england your going to be rude, no your going to be nice and meek. cause otehrwise you will get thrown out.

I agree. My Amell loved Alistair like a brother, but didn't necessarily respect him, even though my character would support him no matter what. Same with Morrigan. A good friend to my character, but I didn't necessarily respect her. However, given all that has transpired in the past decade, she is even more of an enigma, and I think it makes her all the more dangerous. My Inquisitor doesn't know her at all, and that is something I will take into account when playing as him.

I wonder what Morrigan's title will be.

Court Mage? Lady Morrigan? Countess/Baroness Morrigan?

Why would what some Grey Warden did ten years ago have any effect on how she views some total stranger?  It's not like she ever shows any inclination towards being a trusting, stable individuall, regardless of what you do.  I imaging she look down on the Inquisitor upon first meeting them just as she has every single other person she's ever met that we could observe.

My bet is that nobody but Celene or those closest to her would know she's a mage. Probably the Lady Morrigan.

Good point. The anti-magic environment wouldn't bode well for a known mage in the service of a ruling monarch.

I wouldn't be surprised if we catch a quick glimpse of Morrigan in The Masked Empire, even if she isn't directly identified.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I think that Morrigan is probably not the sad little martyr that many people thinks she is.

I'd never categorize her as a martyr, though betrayer may be extreme. It's difficult to tell whether her machinations are intended as malicious or "for the greater good", there's a good deal of ambiguity there. She may be doing what she percieves as the right thing, but whether the end result turns out that way is harder to say.

Flemeth is all honesty even if it's something we don't want to hear.

I think she's being very careful with her words, and certainly withholding truths for whatever comes in the next installments. Reminds me a bit of G-man from HL1/2.

@MevenSelas: The Orlesian court had a name for Vivienne (Madame de Fer), which means she spent time in it. I woudn't say that mages have no space in the court.

Yeah, I've been wondering if the supposed connection between Morrigan and Celene is an implicit confirmation that the outcome of the Orlesian Civil War has already been decided (in the Empress' favor) by the time DAI starts. Or if it's still going on (and if it might be a major part of the main quest).

In either case, I'm sure Morrigan had or will have an important part in it.

But that's an Senior/almost First Enchanter versus an apostate like Morrigan.

I don't know about that. I suppose it depends upon where they live. In Tevinter, I suppose only mages would have any real say in court, but in Kirkwall under Viscount.....er, Knight-Commander Meredith, they wouldn't even be allowed an appearance or a defense. In Ferelden, either Wynne or a mage Warden can have a very solid place in the court, and Celene seems to be more progressive about mages than Lambert is comfortable with and so on.

I guess it depends entirely on who's in charge and where it is.

I tend to agree that even the Orlesians aren't so progressive that they allow apostates to just hang out in the open.

Again, though, I think only Celene and maybe her closest people would know of Morrigan's powers.
