Here's what I don't get.

Mordin Solus says he was involved in the creation and distribution of the Genophage.

Salarians live to be 40 years old.

The Genophage stopped the Krogan rebellions.

The Krogan rebellions happened around 700CE.

The current year is 2187

Am I missing something?

Yes, you are missing the ME2 dialogue. Mordin updated the genophage. The Krogan were evolving so the genophage was becoming less and less effective. Mordin's team updated it.

After over a thousand years the Krogans were overcomming the Genophage naturaly.

Mordin, by order of the Salarian leadership, the STG,and Iguess the Dalatrass, renewed the Genophage. Effectively contaminating the Krogans with a second Genophage to ensure they don't recover.

The Genophage didn't just happen that first time when the Turians distributed it to end the Krogan rebellions, The Salarians keept it going for milenia.
The Crime of releasing the Genophage wasn't jsut that it was released to stop a war, but it was continously modified and redistributed tormenting the Krogan species for generations.

This also explains why most players choose to end it. It wasn't just a punishment that stuck to the Krogans for their past sins, it was sometihng others were doing to them and keept doing.

Hopefully the Krogan public will never learn of this.
They might have come to some kind of acceptance that their Krogan rebellions backfired on them, but they likely wouldn't take kindly to know that the Genophage was there because it was being maintained by outside forces.

They likely belive it's passively passed on generation by generation and nobody else cares about it. The Krogans did ask human medical companies for help with a cure thoguh they were lacking funds. They certainly didn't realise they were still sick because the Salarians readapted the Genophage to ensure they don't grow a resistance to it.

Mordin's actually a synthetic. He was at every major event in the MEU. Just like cerberus.

And just incase you're wondering who built him? You wouldn't know them, and there isn't enough time to explain.

Hope that cleared up any questions.

Nor can you quote anyone. Or edit. Or PM a mod unless they're on your friend's list, I think. Hmmm. How do we report this problem?

Making my own quote here....

Yes, Binary Helix. Back in ME1, one of the news reports said krogan were suing them for a refund or something because BH wasn't able to deliver on their promises. Except they were able to make a cure....they just gave it to Saren for his krogan army instead of to the krogan who wanted it.

Source? I'd have thought that the Reaper Saren was piggybacking on (with a technological head start of several billion years) would be a more likely source.

No source....just my theory since Saren was hip deep involved with BN and did have a genophage cure that he was never going to give to the rest of the krogan. I imagine indoctrination was involved, or he could have just stole the data for his own purposes. That doesn't mean you aren't correct as well. He could have gotten the know-how from Sovereign and used BN to mix test tubes. I don't think it's a coincidence, however, that BN was involved with both parties (krogan looking for a cure and Saren, who had one).

Wasn't it revealed in the ME2 conversation with Okeer (the guy who made Grunt) that the Virmire facility was cloning the Krogan?

BH was owned by Benisia and Saren, and yes it was only to be used by Saren to gather the Krogan and or the cloning faicitly, cause they where free from the genophage.

From what I understand is htat it gets into the genetics and screws things up, so eitehr they cured it, OR had a sample of DNA pre-genopage
