1: Which obviously cannot be aimed at Dragon Age, since females in this game actually generally wear sensible armour. So what exactly is the issue?

2: We barely wear any armour in modern battlefields anyway. We got a helmet and a fragmentation vest, neither of which are super effective at stopping bullets.

3: So far the vast majority of all Dragon Age armours has been "practical", though not realistic,

  • Various counter-examples in DA:O have been given, Isabela and Merrill in DAII.
  • We wear practical clothing, for purposes of camouflage and keeping supplied.  Just because it's not armour doesn't mean it's impractical.  But lady armour tends to be impractical.
  • The men's has a lot more than the women's.  Again, we're not saying that Dragon Age is the worst culprit, in fact it's one of the better series for this, but it's still not perfect and it doesn't make you a bad fan for admitting that.

Dragon Age is doing just fine on sexualization. And Bethany's outfit is great. Miranda had ass and Bethany has ******, nothing is wrong with the clothing. Also, why must u complain on the little things that aren't hurting the game?

<_< You did that on purpose didn't you?

I love how there's so many people trying to play this off like it's not a thing. Chain mail bikini's have always been a problem in games, and while Bioware is SLIGHTLY better than some other companies, it is still a very present problem in their last games. Even in Mass Effect, I loved the way the armors looked, but the fact that women STILL had boob emphasized armor was just...really?

What I've seen so far from DAI looks promising though, so I hope they continue with that and I don't get an unhappy surprise by finding out the most powerful armor in the game looks like a padded bra and a loin cloth on female characters.

I was talking about below the waist clothes. The ones men use are always longer and looser around here.

You mean pants? Because there are tight-fitting pants for dudes, and dudes wear them. If you mean skirts vs. pants, well, there's no equivalent of skirts for dudes.

I'm making a poor job at explaining myself, am I? I meant shorts. Really short, tight shorts is the norm for women, while the ones men use are never above their knees and are usually looser. But that's just here.

The point I was trying to make was that what works for men doesn't always work for women, and vice versa.

Yep, barriers and shield are the reason ME characters can walk around in little to no armor, and still be combat effective.

Yes of course.
Jack must love that warm space air.

Considering that there is a grand total of ZERO missions in zero-gravity enviroments your point falls flat on its face.

the picture below show a mission done on the planet haestrom which had gravity and atmosphere,
but was dangerously irradiated. Still wrong spiroz

Funny how on that mission the sun only effected Sheilds not Health.

Added, we have skin tight light armor from ME1 that's no different the the clothes in ME2 out side of Jack.

And even with Jack, point of Her look was not sexual. It's even funnier that her look really starts looking sexual in ME3 when she has more clothes on.

You should see some of the shorts won by the Rhodesians in the Bush war.

I disagree, it should appear to be practical ... anyone can see cleavage plate is not practical, but most people will not bat an eye at boob plate. Or D&D style studded leather for that matter.

DA and ME are made by different teams. The DA team has never shown any tendency to portrait chainmail bikinis or similar clothing. Even that annoying breast armor seems to have gone away with DA2.

They're either bi-sexual or straight.

Back on topic, hopefully we'll see some more companions soon and then we'll see how their attire is handled.

Because the oversexualization of women in any media has real world ramifications. There are plenty of classes, books, and videos online about the subject that you are more than free to Google, I'm not going to sit here an explain it just to have you **** all over it because "derp double standards."

Funny I am a lesbian and belong to many feminist organizations and I HATE the idea of the OP. I can't speak for all women but I choose to emphasise and celebrate my biological differences especially in things like fantasy and RPG. I loathe the idea of stylise wise being the same as the men except with boobs and hips. I can not imagine anything more boring and repressive. I love being a woman and I love playing as a woman.

That doesn't mean I want to run around "giggling" and wearing hardly a scrap of clothing but I will ALWAYS prefer to celebrate our bodies rather than hide them because they make some people uncomfortable. GMAB

No one's saying you shouldn't be able to emphasis your biological differences.  But in battle, the point of armour is exactly that, to hide your body from harm.  Not from being seen.  Again, this isn't about the fashion of Thedas being unisex or anything like that.  It's just about giving some equal representation across the sexes.  Give men and women a range of options from fashionable to practical.  Let everyone dress as masculine or as feminine as they like.  Let them dress in a non-binary way.  I don't want to take away your right to have a very traditionally feminine woman PC at all.  I just don't want it to be mandatory.

Their is no rule for armor out side of having it for protection. Even then the women in dragon age who wear it wear the preactical  kind any way. It just rogues asn Mages that wear the sexier clothes.

It is today, but in the like 60s/70s, tighter pants on guys were fashionable. That's all I was saying: that it's true that women wear form-fitting pants but that it's not clear that women wear clothing that emphasizes their atractiveness anymore than men do.

Except it didn't. There have already been tons of examples, Isabella being the most obvious.

And not of that is happening in DA. If their is any sexualization of a character it's based on the characters personality and preferance. A thing you're not getting. Stopping oversrxualzation does not mean media should stop being sexual. That their has to be some though first before make a character sexy.

I'm a man, and I don't consider it sexist at all. I can't even see how someone can jump to that conclusion.

If every man in a game fits a stareotype, it's sexist. Whether you find that offensive, that's another matter.

Well you can disagree with evolution too, doesn't make it suddenly not true.
