Could sexualization of female characters and their clothing be reduced?

There is already a wide choice of styles, so you dress your character how you want and don't try to force your Amish ideals on other people.

Amish?

I'm just saying that practicality isn't a bad thing. Would you be alright with chainmail bikinis?

I thought the point of giving players the choice of what kind of armour to wear was that they're giving the player the choice of what kind of armour to wear.

Ah. Our glorious Era of people being offended for every little thing. Truly disgusting.

Even still, it was kinda rude.

So, her chest should be exposed for the world to see and stab with sharp pointy things, like arrows, axes, swords, and etc.?

I didn't know mages had to be first base pseudo nudists.

Because and extra milimeter of cloth is so much more effective?

And my point earlier wasn't that both female and male sexualization should be eliminated, but that we shouldn't have a problem with neither of them.

Am I the only one sensing this thread is going to be locked?

I do not care if it's rude.  I am tired of people looking for reasons to be offended by something.  Gay, straight, bi, man, woman, I am truly sick of it.

When has there been anything remotely resembling chainmail bikinis in DA?

I'm a female gamer and BioWare's designs are not offensive to me in the LEAST. They run the gamut between certain skimpy mage robes with a slit all the way up to the hip to walking mailbox-like heavy armor where you can't tell the character's gender. You can choose what do dress your characters in. Also guess what? There are women out there that don't hate their bodies or their femininity and would choose to show cleavage, have right clothes, etc...in real life. There is already a wide choice of styles, so you dress your character how you want and don't try to force your Amish ideals on other people.

I have had bioware disappointments in the past but their armor has never been one of them.  Also many of the mods I enjoy are the more sexualized armors.  My toon for me is the adult version of Barbies I pick the best hair and makeup and hottest armors to save the world badassfully in.  I grew up with Marvel heroines and they are all sexualized to some degree but as I said I like looking at pretty and Bioware is pretty tame in comparison to the mods I enjoy such as the phoenix armor for DAO and many of the Skyrim armors such as the Eisen armor or the PotW armors.

Youre missing the point of this armor, her "revealing piece is normal, she's a young girl probably trying to attract men, go outside and you'll see that in most females no doubt about it, the chainmail is clearly just thrown on as improvisation when they were taken by suprise by the blight. when her armor upgrades the revealing portion is gone

That's life dude. Just roll with it. Calling it out everytime will not make it stop. It's just gonna ****** people off.

That's a different can of worms. I'm not against restricting people's ability to wear what they want to, but leather armor shouldn't turn into a bikini magically if it's worn by a female character.

Could people have that option? Sure, why not? More options is always better. I'm not against options. I'm against blatant sexualizations.

'twas a blatant hyperbole. Still, you can't imagine some of the revealing mage robes for females to be practical, can you?

It's unrealistic. Someone like that would have serious back problems.
There's something really off about the breast proportions with the rest of her body.

Why not just say, "I disagree with you OP," and move on?

I can't imagine any of the mage robes for any gender to be practical.

Its one thing to complain about armor design but now your complaing about breast sizes, it is realistic if it can occur naturally and trust me, that size does come naturally

Do you have a pic of her armor upgrades, because I don't remember it, and I can't find a pic.

I know seriously, where are these chainmail bikinis in DA games? I wanna find them for my female hawke and female warden lol.

Bioware I don't think has given us an option for chainmail bikinis, I think we should demand Chainmail Bikinis for our female characters as an option lol.

Because that is Varric exaggerated version of Bethany in the prologue.  Betcha think that's sexist of him?

Because I and other posters have shown her that this is not the norm for Dragon Age, but she refuses to accept that and will not be happy until it tailors to her standard.

I'd say this was pretty practical in DA2 for Kirkwall.

No robes restricting mobility, pants, potentially protective torso covering, unfettered mobility of the arms for casting...

What do you think?

But she never changes clothes in act 1, that's what I thought you had a pic for, when they've been in Kirkwall for a year. Her chest is still out. That doesn't make sense. It might make sense for escaping the darkspawn (even though I still feel it doesn't), but it doesn't make sense fighting enemies that way after a year in Kirkwall.

My point exactly. That's not a robe. As a matter of fact, those sorts of armors are the only ones I use in mage playthroughs.

Of course, she only gets those armor changes for real later in the game. The beginning, not so much.

Then, I would suppose I misinterpreted your point of view. Apologies.
