Help With Preventing ME2 Kelly Chambers Romance

Playing through all 3 Mass Effect games again, romancing Liara for the first time. I want to stay faithful to her, planning to not Romance anyone in Mass Effect 2. However, I'd like to have dinner with Kelly, to see her in Mass Effect 3, want to stop needing to feed my damn fish after every mission. However, to my knowledge, if you have dinner with her, don't romance anyone in ME2, and she survives the suicide mission, she'll send you a message to meet with her in your cabin, which leads to some tasteful dancing and doing the horizontal monster mash.

I'd like to prevent this, so pls BSN, help me out. My questions are:

-Can you have dinner with her without setting up the romance?

-If no, can you reject her in the cabin?

-If no, do you need to have dinner with her for her to show up in Mass Effect 3?

I don't think you can have dinner with her without flirting. I tried being nice to her and not being explicitly flirting (think the first conv about embracing her), and it just did not happen.

Yeah, I did it a couple of weeks ago and having dinner with her will not hurt any paramour romances

You need to have dinner with her to see her in 3 though.

When she does the "fall backwards" line, use the "I'd catch you" response. Not "I'd embrace you" That sets you down a friendship path rather than romance. You can have dinner with her and it will just be a friendly dinner. And she'll feed your fish

I did that. I just finished the Collector ship mission. She talks about giving EDI a hug, I can respond with something like "Where's my hug?" This sets up the chance to have dinner, but there seems to be some romantic undertones.
