If you romanced Morrigan as a male and you have the pregnant epilogue but refused the ritual, why did one of the Wardens have to die? Having impregnated her as a tainted warden it should have worked just like the ritual :/. My only answer to this is the excuse I'm using: Morrigan, you cheated on me.<_<

The ritual has MAGIC in it. This is why the warden lives.

I believe she tells you that "some would call it blood magic." And if you have assassin/reaver/blood mage spec, she adds something like, "But I hardly think that would bother such a one as you."

The thing is, there was a ritual involved the latter time. Most likely not the first.
