So all you need to do is wear a cursed amulet created by a treacherous darkspawn emissary and let it nearly kill you before taking it off. That's what I call a foolproof plan.

It was a side effect caused by the Architect's amulet. It accelerated the taint in Fiona's body, but when she removed the amulet, it had a reverse effect.

I guess I'll use that same excuse for my warden then

Hell, that's why I let Avernus live.101ezylonhxeT wrote...
Is she even allowed to do that? that's totally cheating and i would like such an option for my warden. :
(albeit with ethical restrictions on his work...).

I always let him live to because everything he was doing was worth it.

And while tainted no less... Yeah, we're never given any specifics on how - something he managed to discover in his experimentations on the Wardens?Mike Smith wrote...
For that matter(side issue), how did Avernus live 200 years. It's got to be more than blood magic, because you don't see a lot of blood mages live 200 years.

Bah. In the end you wind up the exact same result and still retain a shred of morality. The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...

Also she probably caused the whole Inquisition attacking the Warden's thing due to her stupidity as well as kicking off the Mage-vs-Templar War.

Zathrian was hitting near 500, right? I know he had a special relationship with the Lady of the Forest/Witherfang, but it seems reasonable that Avernus could find an alternate method, given his area of research.Mike Smith wrote...

Fiona is a bit of a mystery though. I was surprised by her role in Asunder. I'd love to learn more about the Architect in DA:I and/or The Masked Empire. I think he's one of the most intriguing characters in the franchise. Besides the Bhelen/Harrowmont choice, the decision about the Architect in Awakenings is probably the most interesting and controversial. I still don't fully understand the ramifications of that one.

its not much, but the stat boost potion hawke gets in DA2 is more powerful, if you go 'darkside'.
also, he's had seven-ish years?(someone who's read WOT help) so who knows if it'll affect inquisition. The taint makes a good weapon against demons (so says Avernus) so maybe he'll help you out.

Actually, the stat boost potion is exactly the same whether you go "dark" or not.efd731 wrote...

Fiona screwed their neutrality? You might want to take that up with the First Warden who is too involved with the politics of the Anderfels to do his job.

The same is true in Dragon Age. Case in point: the Harvester.

We learn in The Calling that the purpose of that rite is for Wardens to kill themselves before the taint corrupts them into darkspawn-like creatures, which is what it does, rather than simply killing them. I always figured that Avernus simply had a blood magic spell that drastically slowed down the corruptive process of the Taint, nothing more than that.
